Hi All-
Just checking in. I'm not in the most cheerful mood, but maybe reading your posts will help...

Hey Betsy.........sorry you have a headache. Did you have to do the route this morning? Buuurrrrr! What a good mom!!!
Yes, I did the route with Steven, not TOO cold, but it's a pain. My older son Andy started the route 5 years ago, and when he got a REAL job, Steven took over the route. So every Sunday, I get up to help. My hubby does it on occasion, but either he's working or needs sleep time.

I know this has been asked and answered about 1000 times here, but what do you and other addicts do when you get genuine pain? I know I have the option of going to the walk-in for a shot of Toradol, but do you just suck it up and take Advil or Tylenol and pray?

I haven't had that problem yet, sorry i can't help. I had one headache and Tylenol worked for me. In your case, don't know what to say......do you use Imitrex?
Yes, I use Maxalt, which is in the Imitrex family. I went for my refill a couple weeks ago, and the pharmacy said it's on back-order, so I'm out of it.
Imitrex and the like have to be taken at the onset of a migraine, otherwise it doesn't work. It is not an "abortive" pain med.

So I have an ice pack on my neck and may go back to bed soon. I HATE THIS!
I'm opff to lay down, talk to y'all later.
Jackie, what a nice post, seriously. it reveals so much when u think of it. Look at you, being excited & happy & working at real life, real joy events. The focus of your life is great & an encouragement. Goodluck with the grandkids (grandma seems so old doesn't it.) I wish my oldest would get married & have kids soon (she's 25) but she's a hell of a lot more together & practical then i was at that age. I'd love to be a grandpa. God Bless.

I did it, I did it, I did it!!!!!!!!!! Managed to change my avatar! YEAH!!! Its only taken me about a month!
Hi Jacky,
Just wanted to pop in and say hello to you. Ever since I got here, the way you handle things really impresses me, just wanted to tell you that.
So, one grandson? How old is he? Hell, I'm 47 and my oldest kid is 14. We started late, then Tommy, my baby is 6. I can't wait to get to the grandparent stage, where you can spoil the hell out of them and give them back.
Looks like a nice peaceful Sunday today. On Sundays, we usually kick back and don't do much. By around 5pm, I make sure that all kids go home (except mine of course) and then I quiet things down for the night, make dinner, make sure Tommy gets his bath, etc. get the backpacks ready for the next day and go to bed early. I've been getting into the habit of staying up really late on Sunday nights and being on the computer or watching tv, getting up and getting
the kids off to school, coming back home and sleeping till about noon.
Mondays are kind of my alone day. After an always hectic weekend, I like to be quiet on Mondays. I like alone time, but can't ever get enough of it unless I stay up really late. Well Jacky, you have a good Sunday and take care of yourself.
My best friend/husband's cousin name is Jackie and her hubby's name is Mike.
Love,
Roe
Betsy i take anidin on those occassions i have a real bad head or somthing, i think i was lucky hun the pills i was addicted on were disolvable so taking a anidin with some water does not have that old routine, also it does not get me high in any way which means i can take it or leave it thankfully i leave it most of the time. i think ive been so lucky well so far. im not sure if you have been here long enough to remember my early posts but i also have arthritus in my left side hip, knee ankle and yes i should go to the GP and get meds but ive found other ways to cope with the pain especially at night when its worse to sleep and get comfy.
If my hip and knee are so painfull i cant settle in bed i usually sleep on the duvet cover myself up with another duvet this acts as a cusion i also place a pillow between my knees so it raises my knee to the same height as my hip it sure does elevate some of the pain. Ok so i look stupid but better then pills i say jackie xxxxx
