So anyways, yeah I took him out, thats my thing every year. I take him and Mike gives out candy. Well this year he wanted me to stay home, but I thought walking around the hood would be fine and of course it was. I love seeing all the cool houses. Bella went with us as Incredidog, it was so cute.

yeah i understand, you already have cabin fever? it's too early, that doesnt happen to me till january/ december. but this getting dark early stinks. i was gratefull for the nice warmer weather we had the past few days. but we still didnt get our typical 80/90 indian summer. but i'll settle for 60's and sunny. trick or treaters sure did have a nice night for a change and all was quit in detroit too...shocker huh?

Well Ladies,, I worked last night, but Publix did something for the kids, from 4:00 to 7:00 if they came in, in their costumes they were able to go to different depts. & get candy...........so it was cute to see the little one's in their costumes , I Kinda misss those days, Did anyone save me some reese;s?

Good Morning Ladies. I've been working really hard on "letting go" of certain things and picking my battles. So, last night, after we got home from trick or treating, the kids wanted to eat some of their candy. Which, I usually let everyone eat one piece, and then we put it into a big bowl and they eat it over the course of a couple of weeks. Well, last night, I thought, "Hey, I'm going to let them enjoy this.. I'm not going to be so controlling".. bad idea... We sat here and gorged ourselves and everyone was on a sugar high, bouncing off the walls, until, they finally slipped into a sugar induced coma at midnite. Nobody even rolled over this morning, until 8:30. They were an hour late for school. I guess that was one battle, I should have fought...LOL

I'm on total bed rest til I pop this puppy. So no working, no heavy labor around the house, not complaining there. But doctors orders are pretty strict and the hubby is the enforcer over here...I used to like Clint Eastwood. So yeah, I'm stuck inside alot.
I was shocked to see Detroit with no fires or anything. But I did get bus loads of Halloweeners that didn't live here....and I mean busloads. I wouldn't let my kids trick or treat in some of the city neighborhoods either though.

i am sorry bout bedrest, i dont know if i could do it, but pregnant hormones did mellow me out AND if i did get pampered i might be able to get through it.
i agree i would welcome the city kids in my hood. its comforting to know kids are safe and being normal like everyone else, that makes me smile to hear it (see i am not so mean after all :)

The city kids were funny, very original costumes. I had a bunch of 10 year old boys come as hula girls, it was really funny.

Oh Redd.. you don't know how bad I wanted to roll back over and just let everyone stay at home, but they missed 4 days, at the end of August when we went to Maine, and I didn't want to be hauled up on charges for truancy...LOL
The lady in the front office gave me the "one eye" when we checked in. I do not like this woman. She acts like the judge and jury, handing out sentences, whenever a parent checks their child in late, or checks them out early. She was filling out the check in slips and snipped, "Why are they an hour late?", and I said, "We were all out, partying until the wee hours of the morning."

That woman must commute, cause I swear I have the same old bag at my kids office. I volunteered for his party yesterday and I had to keep going to my car and getting different things. Well each time I'd come back she had to buzz me in and I'd get the look. I'd just smile and wave.

Its always hard when a good kid moves away. But yet the ones you don't want your kid hanging around with are planted forever. I have a bully in our hood that I won't let Chance hang out with. Hes 7 and full of attitude. He picks on everyone, my son included, he has no one to hang out with...hmmmm wonder why that is....and the mom is just clueless to her kids behavior.
