Hi Guys,
Off topic, I know, but my daughter is performing her third (this year) violin solo. This time its Unchained Melody; last time it was the theme from Titanic and the first time ( I had to beg her, she was so nervous) was the theme from Pocahauntis. Man, she's good. I said to her on the second one "Nick, remember how you felt after the first standing ovation?" and she said "mom, you were the only one standing". But the second time everyone was, probably because I said to the people next to me "STand UP!" then everyone followed suit. You should have seen the pride in her eyes. And the pride in my heart when I hear her solos are better than any drug.
Sharon HI!!!!!! My computers back up and running but I messed with the browsers and can't get on rec buds, gotta take the kids to school and I'll call MSN (which I should have done in the first place and fix it because i miss going there. Will be there as soon as I can....Love and miss ya girl, Roe
I've got a few private issues to discuss with a couple of you guys....See ya soon.
Sounds like she is really good. So is my daughter she has been playing th violin for a few years and is really good. How old is your daughter? Mine will be 14 in May and is in the 8th grade. They offered string instruments in 6th and 7th and she played then. Now we moved and this new school doesn't so she takes private lessons on monday's. She really loves it. Also she picked up playing the guitar really fast from her experience with the violin. Just thought I would brag too.lol Hope you have a great day, Rae
Well, good for all of you! THat is great and I know you moms are so proud. Violins are VERY hard to play at all, let alone good. They offer string instrments in our little county school starting in 2nd grade! My son laughed at the idea, unfortunately. You both have a great excuse to brag!
HAve a good one!
Wow Rae,
My daughter is 14 too. Turned 14 in September 8th grader. Best friend/worst enemy rolled into one. Man they can be psycho at this age. Can yours? She's a great kid, always a's & b's, music, etc. just sometimes gets hormonal on me.
I also have two boys 11 and 6; I used to think the boys were harder because they break everything and are rough, but now that my Nicky (rather Nikki) as she re-spells it, is turning out to be the moody one. I grounded her the other day for being home after dark, she's allowed to go to Walgreens with her friends, but while on foot or bike, HAS to be home by dark.
Her argument was that her definition and my definition of dark are two different things. She wants to be a doctor. Ever since she was little she's wanted to.
Nothing grosses her out. I don't know if you read the episode I had when I went to the hospital, but later she and others told me that while waiting for the ambulance, everyone was running around like nuts and she was sitting calmly next to me counting my pulses and making sure I had one. She never fell apart. Not till I got home and we talked about it.
I used to raise dogs in WI, Great Danes to be exact, which are a hard breed to raise, and I was always there to help when the pups came. Nick could deliver a litter herself, actually she did once, and ended up saving two pups that weren't breathing. Nice to talk to ya Rae, I read and like your posts and look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Tmom,
If he does change his mind, you'll need ear plugs for about the first six months, after that, its nice to listen to. My fifth grade son just took up the trambone and I make him practice outside. Awful, I know, but when he takes it out, we RUN.
Rae,
Nick's got tons of violin cd's and the music to go with them, they're not cheap, if you ever need a hard to find one, let me know, I'd be happy to copy it and send it to ya.

Hey Roseanne,
I know exactly what you mean about hormonal.Kristin is a honor roll student also and is a good girl. However, she can be so sweet sometimes and other times is just a witch.LOL She rolls her eyes and can be such a brat! Teenagers!!! My mom always said I hope you have one like you were, so thanks mom. LOL I also have a 6 yr old son (kindergarten) and he can be pretty wild. Always hungry and thirsty. You would think the kid never eats the way he acts sometimes. Then I have a 9 month old little girl that is into everything.... Everything in the mouth stage. Trying to walk but I am praying she doesn't at least for another month.I will have my hands full with this one.. She already gets mad and has an attitude when you take something away from her.
Also funny you mentioned Danes. I was raised with great danes and I have delivered pups. My mom has a huge dane named Baxter... I think they are the best dogs but clumsy as hell. That dog wil run right into the wall and keep going, lol. Well it was nice talking to you. I can send you some pic's if you want of my family. Just e-mail me at Bunny4804@aol.com and in the subject box put your name so I know it's you. Then I will e-mail you some. Take care! Rae

Hey Rae,
You got it, might be a few days tho because my email is screwed up. I did something to the browsers I think. I just hesitate to call MSN to walk me thru it because its like a 20 minute wait time, and your lucky to get someone you can understand. I think many computer nerds come from the Middle east.
I have a 6 yr old son too, Tommy. He's a handful too. But he's my youngest and last. After having two; you sure as hell know what your in for with the baby. With the first one or two I couldn't wait for them to walk, with the third, I could.
9 month olds are hard. When she starts learning to walk especially. If your family is anything like mine, everytime you go and schedule a family picture, she'll clunk her head and have an egg and you'll have to cancel.
Danes are great. I was raised with them and got into them as an adult. I bred for five years and had 6 litters. We had a hobby farm in WI and made kennels and my whelping area was in the basement. Their size makes them hard to breed, they have huge litters and the mom often squishes them accidentally because as lovable as they are, they're not the brightest sometimes.
We moved to AZ last March and now for the first time in my life, have no pets. Not yet, I'm sure we'll get a dog one of these days. The biggest difference I noticed here is that there are SO many stray dogs. People just dump them. Its sad. My son Alex (11) is a dog nut and has talked me into picking up 3 dogs so far that we've seen roaming. In doing that I made a friend who lives nearby and rescues dogs. So from time to time, I'll take one of hers when she's low on room and keep it for a couple weeks for her and try to train and work with it. Its a nice way to have a dog around, but not for good. I'm not ready to commit to an animal now.
Baxter is a good name for a dog, what color is he? my email is ibrosyt@msn.com, but don't know if you can get thru till I fix it, I'll post when I do and I wrote yours down. If you email me and don't get a response right away, its the computer, but I'll keep ya posted, always nice to meet a new friend, we have 2 out of 3 kids the same age and gender, our daughters being the oldest is nice, we can compare notes. Talk to ya soon............Roseanne
