Who programs the music piped into the store ?.....I mean how do you NOT sing "you sexy thing" in the soup aisle ?? :-) Puh-lease ! lol
have a great sunday everyone.....I'm developing a relationship with my bath tub, candles and books....:-)
Hi WW, My girlfriend who has a new baby sent me an e-mail "Baby Queen." It was babies singing to "We are the Champions" with new lyrics, "We're out of Pampers." It was cute but I could not get that song out of my head for the rest of the day. I enjoy music very much. D likes Jazz and I like Rock, Pop, Alternative and Opera. Lately I've been enjoying just listening to the Tui birds chatting to each other. They have kindof a tropical sound. There are lots of cool birds in NZ that we did not have in the States. A very different birdsong. Soon it will be hot enough for the cicadas to come out. I love to hear their singing, very soothing. Hope you have a good Sunday.
The dude singing it beside me made me smile......
NZ is on my top ten places to visit, I love birds, Rachael, I'm going to google the cicadas and tui, you've got me curious ! I have a pair of Blue Jays that visit regularily, I attached a feeder to my window so I get the best view....my daughter gives me a hard time though, thinking they will smash into the window.....but they won't ! I like the same music you do, but sometimes silence "rocks" too. :-)

Hi WW, I can picture some dude singing "You Sexy Thing" in the grocery store and it puts a smile on my face. Tui's are a large black bird with a white pouch on their chest that puffs up when they call to each other. I just love to hear them chatting. We have a cherry tree out front where 2 or 3 sometimes gather. And there's a tree outside my window at work that is a popular meeting place. They are smart too and hardly ever come to the ground. My 3 cats have only caught 2 in the 6 years I've been here. Very sad when they do. Cicadas are strange insects that sound like crickets. They shed their skins and leave them on tree bark. They are supposed to be prehistoric. They go into the ground and hibernate for 17 years or something crazy like that. But a new bunch seem to come out when it gets really hot in Jan and Feb. When I first moved here I was at my sisters in a "sleep out" right next to the bush. The sound was sometimes deafening. Now that I have my own place further from the bush, it's a nice pleasant level of singing. I don't know why but it's very soothing to me. New Zealand is definitely a beautiful country. I love it and all its' many shades of green. It's raining today. I hope we'll have some good weather when my US visitor comes in 2 weeks.
P.S. I used to have a Blue Jay around my place in Ventura, CA. He loved to come and tease my cat, Rosie. She was quite the hunter but she was never quick enough to get near the bossy Blue Jay. I would finally go out and shoo him away because I got tired of hearing them fight. Very entertaining birds and so smart.
