I am apologizing to my body parts today. Either I've lost it, or this is normal behaviour ????? Oh and my cells....so sorry cells. Forgive me dear cells......
I have been the worst cell customer.....
Have a good one, today, recovery rebels.
And I mean that in the most loving way....:-)
I have said sorry to my body also.....thats why I am taking a liver detox now...just to hopefully undo some damage that may have been done
Gosh, I never even thought of that. I think of people - need to think of me, too.
I don't know how my liver is considering during 2 addictions, I did about 7 years total of Lortabs, I can't even begin to count the numbers. I have had tons of b'work, every year at least due to underactive thyroid but how much do they check? I need to ask.
Good idea, WW
Love, Jean

Fact: I found out last night drugs/alcohol is way harder on our bodies. Why the difference between women and men? Alcohol passes through the digestive tract and is dispersed in the water in the body. The more water available, the more diluted the alcohol. As a rule, men weigh more than women. In addition, pound for pound, women have less water in their bodies than men, so a womans brain and other organs are exposed to more alcohol before it is broken down. These differences play a role in both the short and longterm effects of alcohol on women.
Liver disease: Women develop liver disease more quickly and after drinking less alcohol than men. Women are more likely than men to develop alcoholic hepatitis (liver inflammation) and to die from cirrhosis.
I am sorry liver.

Krazyshyone, would love to hear more about the detox!!
DEAR WW I never thought about saying Im sorry to my poor body. When I think of all the abuse Ive heaped onto myself not to mention what others have done it surprises me that my body is not in worse shape,What ever made you think of this....mj
me too Krazy... is it those pills you can buy at wally world?
Dear MJ,
****Whatever made you think of this?******
Sobriety. ;-)
The meeting I went to last night was an eye opener from a physiological/biological point of view. We saw a video from Hazeldean that went into detail about what exactly happens to our brains and bodies when using stimulants or depressants.
I find that getting educated (studying my addictions) is helping me with my recovery.

I know it is so amazing what we've done to ourselves. But it makes me wonder if we knew all this stuff before would it of stopped us?For me I dont think so.For me I went through years of self destruct....mj
Funny you should mention that, I'm ready to start volunteering at the elementary schools.....to get this education out there.
That's a good idea. When my little boy gets into school I am going to start doing some volunteer work in the area for drug education. I would like to speak at the highschools and jr highs. I think it is always good to hear from someone who has experienced the hell of addiction.
I have been seeing an herbalist since my 4th day into recovery.........the day I found this site.........she has me on different stages..........first it was GABA ...repair the gaba damage to the brain by the pills.........DLPH..to help with the pain our bodies are going thru, and Vit. C......after that then she put me on a herb called ..Liver detox....our liver goes thru differnet stages of detoxing the crap out of it....and then she said in a few weeks I can start the real detox, but adviced me I may feel like the flu and tired, but that it is doing the real deep detoxing of the liver you have to do it slowly.....since it took time to damage the liver.......
that's great info, thank you!
I have also herd that 5-HTP is (i think I got that right) is good for recovering too.
