Hi everyone, I used to be a member at Drugabuse.com and I went and there gone, does anyone know what happened to it, or is there anyone hear that was there? I am addicted to Hydrocodone and taking 20-25 per day and tomorrow I am going to start Bup treatment and I wanted to ask some questions. The doctor wants me to be in WD before I get there at 5:00pm and told me to take my last pills tonight. He said I might would start at 16mg's per day and if I could do less, maybe 8-12 then it would be alot cheaper. I read alot that 8mg's should be enough. I coach soccer and have alot of responsibilities at my business and at home, will I be able to function once I take the Buprenorphine? Is it going to take away the WD's enough to feel OK? I can check into a 7 day detox for about the same price, but I dont know which is better. Please, if someone knows any of my questions, I would really appreciate it, and If anyone knows what happened to Drugabuse website, I know there where alot of arguements there last time I visited the site, but It had been like that for the past year. Maybe you all can help me?

Welcome this this forum! I don't have experience with Bup, but there have been multiple threads on the subject here...take a look thru the messages and hopefully you'll find the info you need.

Thanks Jim, I have been searching for another forum to relocate to, and I hope I found it. There isn't many thats for sure, and when I saw that one gone, I kinda paniced. I am glad to be hear, it seems like the same kinda careing people as I read thru the threads. Thanks for responding.

I don't have personal experience with Bup, but 16mg sounds like a high starting dose based on what I've read -- but I'm no Doctor. Maybe it's just to get you through the initial physical w/d's. I've heard that people function quite normally on it, assuming their system accepts it. There are folks who have taken -- or are taking -- Bup on this Board, so maybe they can give you the benefit of their experience. Good luck to you -- M.
