Hi Kim, welcome to the board and congratulations on your clean time. As far as your friend goes Im not sure what you can do, everyone has to hit their own bottom and want to do it themselves, hopefully if you keep talking to her she'll see the light.
The best thing you can do is to be there when she is ready and help her through it.
Good luck

IS THERE ANY ADVICE ABOUT HOW TO QUIT PILL COLD TURKEY OR WEAN I PACK A BAG AND IM GOING TO STAY WITH HER STARTING TONIGHT RIGHT NOW I TOLD HER TO WEAN DOWN CAUSE IM SCARED SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN / WHAT CAN I EXPECT ????
Not many people can wean successfully, I tried a couple times and couldnt do it. Opiate withdrawal wont kill you if you a relatively healthy person. I used suboxone to quit, but I wanted to quit. Im afraid if your friend doesnt want to quit she probably wont.
Her story sounds like mine, eventually I got sick of living with pills and devised a plan and followed it through.
Hopefully deep down she knows she should quit and with your help she will.
Others here who have weaned or CT can probably offer some methods to cope.

Kim, your friend is very lucky to have you in her life, but you have to understand that she will not quit until SHE is ready to.... Quitting for someone else might work for a little while, but she won't stick to it. She is going to have to make that decision that she wants to end this addiction herself, and then she is going to need all of the love and respect and support that she can get.
JohnDee is right..... not many people can "wean" themselves off of pills successfully. It CAN be done and you'll meet many people on here who HAVE done it, but it's tough, because she'll still be obsessing about the drugs, chasing that high, etc, etc, etc.
If she has the desire to really quit, then she may be able to taper with your help. What my husband would do was leave out a certain number of pills before he went to work and then I would take the second dose when he got home (the way I tried to do it was go longer and longer between doses at first, instead of cutting down the number I took at one time...then you gradually cut the number you take in each dose...). This did not work successfully for me because I would get them from other people, call another doctor, rip the house apart looking trying to find where he had hidden the rest of them.....
If she cannot taper and would rather go cold turkey, remember that unless she has an underlying medical condition, withdrawing from opiates is not usually dangerous. Some people really struggle and are in a lot of pain and discomfort, while others say it wasn't that bad (speaking for myself, I can tell you that it was like having a mild case of the flu for me, but everyone is different).
If possible, can you take care of her child so she can try and sleep off the first couple of days? It's hard to be that sick when you have to take care of a child or go to work, so the best thing you could do for her is let her stay in bed, rent her favorite movies, bring her ibuprofen, chicken soup, gatorade, etc.... and after the 3rd day, encourage her to go for a walk, get up, and do things.
She will appreciate your concern for her when this is all over...
