Help W/suboxene Taper

Hello Everyone,
I was hoping someone would have some advice or experience. I have been on Suboxene for over 3 months. I began on a low dose, and went to 20mg a day for a couple weeks, then down to 16mg a day for a couple months. Now I am almost at 8mg a day. I have noticed alot of fatigue for a couple days, then it passes. I also have that leg "tingling" a little once or twice after a few days after the taper. I am going to be tapering 2mg every 2 weeks in December, then 1 mg a week in January. I am hoping to go from 4mg a day to 0mg a day within 3 weeks. So am I dragging the process on by doing it this way? Or is this the best way to do it with less side effects. I attend AA and have a counselor, so I am "solid" with support. Me and my husband are hoping to have another child (we will begin to try around February, but his reversal may delay us for a couple more months). I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I don't want to "detox" all month, if it's not necessary, however, my Dr. seems to think I will have mild w/d's. Thank you so much for any advice. I hope you have a wonderful day, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!! Take care, Best Wishes
I can share how I got off suboxene, Started in june of 2004-started at 8mg went to six then dropped one mg a month till I reached 2mg--then I cut .5 MG each 2weeks till I hit 0.

Good Luck

Jeff
Jeff,
How long did you take Suboxone for?
Bwishes, 4mg to 0 in 3 weeks seems a little too agressive. You might be a lot better doing it Jeffs way. Ive known people to even go down to 1/4 mg or even 1/8 mg for a while to minimize the withdrawals.

Good luck

8 months the first time then I had emergency surgery and had to go back on pain medicine and had to restart my suboxene again. Ihave been on it for the last 9months and then had another surgery last week so back on 8 mg and cutting. Down to 6 today.

I have been on for about 6 months now and I am scared of the taper. I am more than likely just being parnoid! Would you mind emailing me your taper plan?

Hello,
Thanks for all of the good advice. I agree, I would be better off tapering slower, however, I will be trying to get pregnant in late February and on. I have 3 teenagers that are 16, 14 and 12. I just have wanted another baby for awhile. So I need to get my body back in shape. I never took anything with any other pregnancy, so I can't imagine doing that. Well I am dropping off 4mg next week, so hopefully that will go well. I am planning a couple days of taking it easy if necessary. Thanks Subman for all your advice, and others. I am sure I will be posting. I just pray this is not like the w/d's I had from taking Oxycontin at high doses for pain. I will keep everyone posted. I am hoping since it has only been 3 months that it will not be too bad. I am taking my final week of no Suboxene do "doing only what I feel like", which I haven't done for a long time. But I know in the long run, my family will know that it is worth it. Thanks again, for all of the help. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Take care, Best Wishes
BW..I can't help you with this one so I'll just offer my love and support.

Happy Thanksgiving sweetheart.

set the absolute cut off date for your taper knowing that you may have a week at the end that is a little rough. The work backwards and work in how to get to zero in that time.
I tapered from 8 mg to 0 withing 2 weeks. I really did not have a choice. I had pretty bad withdrawels but it was well worth it. I just hate dragging things out. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. Love, Laura
