Ultram
I am on 1000-1200mgs a day. What would you do?
1) Taper over time
2) CT
3) Suboxone
None of the above: Talk to your prescribing physician. Ultram klucking is not fun, but your doctor should be able to assist you.

Hi JJJ
Welcome to the board. I don't know anything about ultram, but there are a few individuals on the board that were addicted to them. Mollyjean is one of them. Hang in there, someone will help you with your questions soon.

I don't know, maybe its a ultram pill walking around clucking like a chicken..whatever...LOL
I think I just read that you started to taper in another thread. Is your doctor helping you with this?

It is the same as withdrawing. Has absolutely nothing to do with a chicken.
JJJ,
I am pretty sure you should not CT off Ultram (seizures) Talk to your Dr as Pam said.

Tom

Tom, I love you... BIG FAT WET KISS.
JJJ,
You should talk to your doctor....There are drugs he can give you like catapress/clonidine to help make you more comfortable......
And this seizure thing is wrong, you run more of a risk on it than off.....
Withdrawal will be exactly as it is with all other opiates, there are varying degrees with each person, each type of opiate......
Good luck to you and stick around there are many here who can help.....
Love,
Tina

Hi,
Talk to your doc. and get off of those. I abused those, took a seziure on them.
Drug Uses....Tramadol, Ultram, Ultracet.
Tramadol is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. It also may be used to treat pain caused by surgery and chronic conditions such as cancer or joint pain. Tramadol works by decreasing the brain's perception and response to pain. It also reduces the size or magnitude of the pain signal passed from one nerve to another. This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
How Taken
Tramadol comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It usually is taken every 4-6 hours as needed. It may be taken with or without food. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Tramadol exactly as directed. Tramadol can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose take it more often, or for a longer period than your doctor tells you to.
Warnings/Precautions
Before taking Tramadol, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease; liver disease; or a history of alcohol or drug dependence. You may not be able to take Tramadol, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listed above.
Take care........Bob

Hi,
It was from taking a really large amout at a time. I had to take alot of those to get a simular effect of the percs, vics etc.. I'd say get off of those as soon as you can. Do it safely, doctors advice I'd say seek. I don't know if withdrawl from those can cause a seziure or not. So I don't wanna give any advice on what to do. I'm just saying for me, it was from a high dose.

Yup, taking that high of a dose and withdrawing cold turkey can and will cause seizures. I'm serious on this one. You need to get with your doctor and get a plan in place before you just stop taking them. Be very careful.
Thank You Sean, there is the man with the correct and educated answer. Follow his advice for he will not lead you astray.
Hi,
I would say talk and be honest with your doctor. As well intended we all are here, fact is we don't really know eachother. Although thats probably an ok idea,
I wouldn't take any advice unless first discussed with your doctor.

Can I add that what I am suggesting is that you bring up the option of Sub Detox with your Dr, not do some half-baked home job without medical supervision. Bob is right on the money.
Long term success means being honest with yourself and your Dr.
