Its gonna sound funny but my partner is crazy when he is asleep. He usually has a smoke before he goes to bed so I am sure its related to that and I just wondered if it happens to anyone else? He itches allot in his sleep, he is having conversations (normally when he talks in his sleep I cant understand him but I can now he is using heroin)???, he also errrrmm masturbates allot?? Kind of freaks me out waking up to him tugging at himself and I feel like I wanna wake him up with a great big almighty slap...lol. His jaw moves allot in his sleep and also he moves around a hell of allot and some nights he wont let go of me?? Is he subconsciously dreaming about lossing me?

Only thing was subconscious for me was "I better leave that bag for morning".....it calls ya........"Do me"......alllllllll night........that's if he even saves any for morning..........most addicts don't.
Itching, scratching.........yep........people told me I talked all kinds of nonsense high in my sleep.........like talked like all animated........oh and almost burn the house down.......yeah ciggies.........nodding and the ciggies burn your fingertips and ya don't even know........fall asleep on a radiator and get third degree burns.
Nod and fall between two wedged surfaces and cut off your own damn blood flow........that's always a good sleep.......so BR, you can see how Gus from Aus said he'd do anything to be able to sleep..........we ain't got our dope.....oh forget about it............takes a long time to be able to sleep.

Does he smoke ciggies? .......we smoke alot when high........keep an eye out for that, K? Well you'd know from the burnholes in the mattresses and rugs and pillows.

Yeh he smokes only since he been using again though. He does like a good smoke now and he used to always be gouging out and nodding off with a fag in his hand. I dont allow him to smoke in the bedroom so no burns in the matress but a few in my carperts. He doesnt really get that high that he falls asleep anymore, that was more before he could tell me what he was actually up to. He just uses to keep him going if you know what I mean?
He said he is only having about 12 lines a day....is that much cos it sounds like it to me but he says that its good!
Oh yeh I forgot about the sobbing in his sleep too..I sometimes think should I wake him up but then I think no suffer youo b**tard and cry endless tears like me. Am I evil???? I do loose allot of sleep through him but I am getting allot more now that he has cut down and isnt getting totally of his face. I was making him sleep on the floor in the living room at one stage.

I never used to be a sleep talker till I started with the heroin. My ex, he used to tell me I'd have these whole conversations in my sleep. But the thing I'd talk about the most was driving, bizarrely enough. I'd be forever waking him up and asking him "Do I go left or right at the lights?" And the itching, that's just heroin. It makes you itch, but it's a nice sort of itch, one that feels really good when you scratch it. I dunno about the sex thing, coz I've always been a total nympho...

the 1st year i was getting clean and on methadone i freaked Rob out in my sleep. I would talk or have nightmares wake up screaming "still do sometimes". My sleep has been shot to hell. The dreams even now nealy 2 years off are still tainted with dope and needles. Every addict I know has poor sleep. As for the itching thing I only had that the 1st few months using. The longer i used i stoped getting the itchies. My brother who's a addict use to be my roommate he sleep walks "funny stuff". One time he woke me up he had nodded off and dreamed I hid a big pile of drugs from him.He was so mad he keep yelling where is it. I'ld ask what? he'ld yell the THING. This went on like 10 mins he finally said the pile of dope. I never laughed so hard he was so ANGRY with me. He use to get up ASLEEP walk to the fridge and get a soda "not open it" put it to his mouth wipe his mouth it would look like he took a drink he would walk back to bed. Almost all of his sleepwalking was getting a drink.
Yeah z-g, it was the dreams when I DIDN'T have gear that were the killers. When you're just going into a cluck, and you dream about heroin all night. I'd be forever dreaming that I had the gear, but there was some stupid reason why I couldn't do it in. Like Dali-esque needles, that went all floppy when I was about to stick it in a vein. Or getting arrested at the critical moment. I still often dream that I've got piles of dope, but no way of doing it in, but it doesn't get to me like it used to. I used to wake up dying for the hit I'd been chasing all night and ring the only dealer I knew who would answer his phone at 8am, and drive the 60 mile round trip to his house, way up in the valleys to score. When I was pretty new to being clean, I used to dream I had cancer, but I was happy, because the Drs gave me loads of morphine. I dreamed that I was alone in a tent, in the snow, and dying of cancer, but I was happy as a pig in s***, coz I could do as much gear as I liked, and nobody could say f-all to me! Totally FUBAR'd! I think the dreams stay with you forever, but it gets easier to handle them.

Its been good reading about everyone elses dreams. Some I can relate to others I cant. Some funny, some wierd lol. The dreams seem to be settling down and the itching. He still moves around a hell of a lot in his sleep. No wonder he is waking up more tired than when he goes to bed?? Anyway thanks everyone who replied to this post. Its been very interesting.
