I have been with my boyfriend for just over 2 years, for a year and a half of it he was using, i have tried to be understanding, have stood by him, but all the lies, mood swings and decietfullness has taken its toll. He has been clean now 2 months and was just starting blockers, when he hurt his arm, he now has had to stop taking blokers cos of painkillers. I am now on edge again, watching his every move, and he doent like it, but he made me this way, i mark the foil to see if any has gone, i check his work bag and wallet for any evidence. he says i am out of order, but he has put me through hell and back and i am safegaurding myself from further hurt. Is there anyone out there who has been in a similar situation and cme through ok???
Hey girl my story is pretty much identical to yours...and i have to say...it doesnt always come out ok...
you just have to worry about yourself...dont look through his stuff...dont check his bags...or mark the foil..if he wants to use...hes going to...and there is nothing you can do about it...you can either live with it...or not and leave...you just have to understand that you cant control his using...he will do it if he wants to...
once i came to that realization...there has been a lot less stress in my life...i no longer look through his stuff or through the house...whats the point? he either will use or he will not...
just take care of yourself and try to detach a little bit...your life will become a whole lot easier!!!! keep posting!!
