My son is doing ok. He hasn't had any drugs for 32 days!!! I'm so proud of him!!! He's having some problems with depression though. He asked to restart his zoloft on the 23rd, and I think it's just starting to kick in. One of my greatest concerns at this point is that his ex-girlfriend who he is still trying to work things out with. She was on a methadone treatment program to get off the heroin and continue with beauty school. She decided to come off of it about a week before Christmas by going every other day for about a week and then stopping. She was away for Christmas and called my son complaining about how bad she was feeling. He felt so bad for her!!!
Today when she called to discuss New Year's plans, I asked her if she would consider just hanging out here this year because they are both so vulnerable. She told me she had some plans with friends, but she would call later to talk to my son about it. She called and only talked to him for about a minute, saying that she would call him back in a few minutes. After about 4 hours, she called here. She said that her friends and her were supposed to go dancing, but nothing they had planned was happening. She was very upset about that. (She's very self centered and hates when she doesn't get things her way.) She didn't come over to be with my son. He mostly slept the night away. My husband and kids said I should just let him because it's hard for him not to be partying. Please keep him in your prayers! These are very rough days for him!
