I just want to thank all of you for your help . Today by now i would have at least taken 2 percocet but i havent. Im gonna take 2 today and only 1 tomarrow and see if i can make it off these evil pills slowley. Maybe it wont make the withdrawels so bad. The only thing that scares me is getting the withdrawels while i am at work. It is nice to talk to people who were in the same boat as me. I kind of felt alone. THE only people i had to talk to were other addicts that dont want to stop taking them.

Hi Amber, glad you checked in. Staying accountable helps us focus on what's important. Do you have someone that can hold the pills for you and then give them to you according to the schedule you've set up for yourself? It's just too damn easy to justify taking "one more"

Hi Amber, glad to hear that you have decided to take control! Cowgirl is right, you should find someone to hold your pills. It IS too easy to justify taking more than you should. I know that you can do this! It won't be fun, but it is definately worth it. I did it cold turkey and that was the best way for me. The w/ds were awful, but I will always remember them and that helps keep me clean. This board helps, too. The people hear are great! So, keep it up, good luck, and God bless!! ---Jess

Cowgirl, yes. I am a few days late and I am NEVER late for any reason. However, I took a test and it was neg. My doctor wants to see me anyway, so I'm going on Monday. I usually have TERRIBLE cramps and I feel nothing. But I have faith in the home prego test. I hope it was right. I'm afraid to have 3 children!!! But if this is what God wants, then so be it. How are you doing today? I like your posts and read them often! Love, Jess

I like your posts too... 3 kids can be a little scary but hey, what's one more? I have 3 boys and wouldn't have changed that number for the world. I would have loved to have 3 more boys but I was afraid I'd get a girl in there. Don't get me wrong I love little girls, I just don't like teenage girls. They are scary.

I think that you are an amazing mom, so don't worry about what life throughs your way. Look how far you've come and how strong you've become. Will you let me know what the Dr. says?

Cowgirl, thanks! How old are your boys? I have a little boy who will be 5 on Dec. 16 and a little girl who will be 8 Jan 2. I wouldn't mind another baby, they're just SO expensive! And I'd like finish school before I have another so that I can support them. But, can't plan everything, right? I'll let you know what the doc says. __Jess

I just wanted to tell you, good job, Amber on your Taper!!!!! Wow, I too, hope your WD's are very minimal. I cannot believe how some can taper. I tapered a little with Oxycontin, but if I have it, I take it. Like Cowgirl said, you just justify one more. I am going off Monday night, just knowing that is not good, I am taking them too get through the weekend and get everything caught up. I agree with Cowgirl, have someone else hold them. There is no good time to have a child, is there? We just have to go with it. If I planned my three, I still wouldn't have them. Mine are 24, 19 and 17. My oldest is getting married, so I have to look to him for more babies. I think Grandkids are going to be a kick in the head!

OOOOH! Gandkids will be great!! You get to play with them and then just give them back! LOL! Congrats on your son getting married! I bet you're excited! AND congrats on your 7 months! How do you feel mentally? Are the cravings as bad as they were? I am at 2 months and I still think about pills a lot. I try not to, but it just pops in my head. I'm slowly getting energy back, which is good. This disease is exhausting!!!

Ok guys- QUIT it with the grandkids thing. I'm only 45, and I am so worried about having Grandkids..I'm not ready to be a GrandPa..I'm TOO young for that..I'm going to make my 19 year old daughter become a Nun..well, a Ninja Nun anyway...

lol I'm the same age as you Danny, and I can't wait for grandkids. I'm so jealous of Sharon and her Maddy. Maybe it's easier for me because I have boys. A girl would be harder to think of being pregnant at 19. I was married, had a baby and divorced by the time I was 20. Think my parents were tweaked? You bet.

You're right Sugar.. play with them, spoil em rotten and then give them back. I love it.

Cowgirl, you have no idea how cool it's going to be. Think you are crazy about your kids? Just wait until they produce one of their own. OMG...the love! You take one look at them and your heart swells ten times it's normal size. My baby girl is one now (notice I said MY? lol) and it's like a personal gift straight from heaven. Kick in the head? lol, yeah buddy....just wait. And Danny, I have a daughter too, so I hear you, but when it happens you''ll be so proud you'll walk a little taller for a long time, lol. (mine's just 12 so I have awhile yet to worry over that one.) Much love, Kat

Kat..I know what you're saying. The poor kids haven't even gotten married yet and I've already started a "granma hope chest". I haven't told them that though. Babies just smell good. They are so sweet and so innocent. Who knows, maybe I'll have another chance to do it right with the next generation.

Hey, I know me. When the day comes that I'm a Grandpa, I'm going to like run out and buy a Corvette or take flying lessons or something really stupid..and I already went through the "mid-life crisis" thing..I'm sure I'll love the little rugrats to hell though..and I'm sure I'll spoil them..heck, I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old running around here and I spoil them ROTTEN..and I spoiled my other three..all those little kids get away with MURDER!!!!!!!

Cowgirl, boy, so right, can you think of better incentive to be clean? My baby is on my list of reasons to stay clean, I look at it very often, seems to help. And I'm betting you did pretty good with yours too....all that love. (I'll add good looking too but you can't take all the credit for that.....angels had a hand there). Oh and btw, guess the horse will have to wait awhile. After you explaining how much was involved, we decided to wait until spring to try all that. It's just on hold though, it means to much to her not to get her one. I want to be sure we do it right though and can take care of the horse properly. Guess you'll just have to invite her to your house....lol. Love ya, Kat

Wow Danny, I never had a grandpa but if I did I think I would have liked one with corvette who took me flying, lol. Sounds like you might turn out to be a really cool grandpa. (just don't tell your ninja nun that, lol) Hey, just buy the vette now, get it out of your system, and what a way to do it! I'd go pick up my grandaughter anyday in a vette if I had one, lol.
