Hi to every1 and all the people who replied to my first message. To answer some questions, I was using heroin for 7 years, sometimes with crack on top and tranquilizers too. Got up to about 100 pounds worth a day, not counting the crack. That was until i nearly died from blood clots in my leg and lungs - wake up call...! I have now been on methadone for 18 months. I had a lapse in april when my clinic messed up and left me without meth for 14 days!! Thanks! But back on track now . Started on 70ml, got down to 18ml quite quick, then lapsed and i am now right up to 90ml. Might talk to my doctor about sub - we call it subutex over here i think - I am from England by the way. I was born in the Midlands - not far from Manchester and Liverpool.
Had a real scare today - just need to tell someone. i didnt think I would be sat here at one point. Noticed yesterday that my leg was swollen and hurting. My girlfriend panicked and took me to a doctor. He sent me straight to hospital where i was told 6 hours ago that i have another blood clot (possibly from that lapse in April - I havent injected since!). It has been caught early so I have been sent home with stuff to inject into my stomach to thin my blood. I need a scan next week to check its gone. SCARY. They also said i have permanent vein damage in my legs and feet. It was just one of those moments when you realize what you have done to yourself, ya know? Horrible. Why did i ever try heroin?! I say that to myself alot!
I was kinda touched to see i got replies to that message - i guess i didnt expect any. I havent talked to any other user or recovering user since my last hit.
My girlfriend is really pleased i am on this site, and so am i. Thanks guys, i feel more hopeful already.

Alright..Raz..glad yer feeling a bit better in yerself today,bad scare though ..hope that clears.Regrets a bout being on gear..we all getm,but now your off the stuff..you can only look forward,easier said i know..but possible.Mate im off the smack&big benzo habit just 3mnth.after 12 or so yrs.This board has helped me a lot,no one to judge ya, you can just get the stuff in yer head..goin thru a bit of a thought process so hopefully that will help yer actions..if ya get me.All the best...Davey
Sorry to hear about your legs. Your lucky you caught it in time. Your right about Subutex. There is subutex which is buprenorphine and there is suboxone which is buprenorphine with naltrexone. Go to the subs board and you'll learn alot. I think there are more people from England on these boards then anywhere else. Good luck.
I go back to work tomorrow on my third day of suboxone. I feel ok. Going on subs from meth though is harder. You need to drop to a very low dose. They recommend 30mg for a week then nothing for 36 hours. Then take the subs. I would drop alot lower then that. Go to the subs board its great learning of other peoples experiences with the subs.
