So is everyone in the Christmas spirit?I'm having a tough time right now.Seems I've had another mini stroke! I woke up Thursday morning and I couldn't use my fingers on my right hand.When It didn't improve by saturday I had my son drive me to urgent care.They sent me to the ER.They claimed I had another stroke,but nothing showed up with the cat scan.They wanted me to stay in the hospital,but I hate hospitals and said if I got worse I would come back in.
On Monday morning saw my regular doctor and he feels I did in fact have a small stroke.So...Today I go in for an MRI on my neck and head,and Monday I start physical therapy on my right arm and hand.He upped my dose of Lisinopril.My blood pressure was 198/104.
I would appreciate any prayers from all of you.I have many already praying for me,but I know many of you believe in the power of prayer and will take as many as I can get.
Wendy...do you have a day in mind to meet and get the computer?Say...wasn't it a bit nippy outside Monday and Tuesday? 25 below windchills!!!! Are you ready for winter?...LOL....

Things are well here, other than the fact that I'm sitting here with a blankie on cause I'm cold....fireplace is roaring, but I think I'm coming down with a cold.
We moved into our house on Saturday, still tired from doing that, though I took the time to put up our Christmas tree today, I've gotten as far as lights and candy canes to decorate...then I sat my butt down to have some soup and haven't gotten up yet.
My nephew ended up in the hospital yesterday, he was running high fever and having stomach pains, they said at first it was his appendix, but I got another email from my dad this morning saying that he had a 5 inch blockage in his small intestine, which they had to remove. They say he will be in the hospital for 5 days. So anyone reading this, please say a prayer for him.

you have my prayers as well as i am adding you to my churches prayer chain also. i will get the word out my tough fighter friend. i will make a point to call friday, i am taking mandy to her treatment tomorrow. she is doing good still, just very tired now that she has been doing her treatment. but she looks great and still not letting this hold her down. she still goes to school and out with her griends when she has time on her early treatment days : ) she is a shining spirit with the power of love. there is no powere greater than that.

Thank you all for your concern and prayers.I'm really not suffering though.I'm just amazed I had another stroke! It's just a pain in the butt not being able to use my right hand.Of course i'm right handed,couldn't be the left hand...LOL

i'm hooked up for the cols weather gear and january is perfect time for a vaca : ) that would be so fun for me and so inspiring, we do have a way of making each other laugh about nothing hahaha thats what makes it even more fun. i woild more then love to meet you and i will even invite myself to stay at wendy's house hehehe (she dont know that yet : ) either way we have time enought to plan something. sounds perfect to me and mandy will be done withe her treatments by then. we can talk about it on friday when i call.

LOL....Lisa,Minnesota in January doesn't appeal to yah huh?...When I was small and when my kids were small,we would get cups of boiling water and throw it in the air and watch it turn to snow on the real cold days....Now that's real entertainment...LOL...funny thing is...we really don't get that much snow...out east gets more than we do,but it's a fact...when it get's too cold it won't snow! I remember a couple of days in january back in 1981 when the windchill was -100 below zero....Wendy can back that up for me.
There also has been a few times that the govenor has shut down every school in Minnesota due to cold weather.It's really sad,but seems like every year some kid dies from hypothermia while waiting for the bus to arrive.The parents head off for work and the kid is locked out of the house waiting outside for the school bus.Sometime school is an hour or two late because of the weather and these stupid parents don't realize it and their kid stands there waiting for the bus!

i need to tell you a story about the love of my life, my husband.will try keep it short...lol
He has always had great low cholesteral...enviable to the Drs, yet he developed high blood pressure one year and was put on blood pressure meds.One day he gets a nose bleed that wont stop. Goes into hospital...find that while they were doing some kind of scan for internal bleeding ( he had taken Voltrin for many many years) he suffered a small heart attack
i started reading about the heart, anything i could get my hands on. asked for a homocysteine test....which shows inflammation in the arteries...theyare now saying that high homocysteine levels are as if not MORE relevant than high blood pressure to predict future heart attacks.
His test comes back..yes hes too high.
To treat it..he goes on Folic Acid ( 4 mg) Vitamin B6 (250mg) and Vitamin B12 ( 1000 mcg chewable)
Guess what in 4 months of taking those vitamins...his blood pressure starts to drop..they cut his Blood pressure meds by half....1 month later....they have to cut it in half again.....1 month later....HES TAKEN OFF HIS BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS COMPLETELY!!!!!
His blood pressure remains LOW...Im hoping and praying he'll live to 100.
I wish i had known that this high blood pressure can be treated by treating the SOURSE of the problem before........so please ask your Dr. about getting your homocysteine levels checked...oh yeah and at the same time a C-Reactive protein check.....you could save yourself SO much grief and future poblems by looking into these NOW..

CRP right now, is just a marker for inflammation. They are researching it more and more. By lowering cholesterol CRP is reduced.
