Hello,
I just found this group. I haven't explored as of yet, but when I saw "Pain Pills" I decided to join right away. My addiction started with pain pills, and my sponser wanted me to find an online group that I should get involved with.
I spent a long time looking at several online addiction groups and was overwhelmed at how many people are struggling with addiction. I hope it's okay for me to jump in like this.
I am so glad I found this site.
I am a Rocky and Bullwinkle fan, hence the username: fractured, as in fractured fairytales. I also am still feeling quite fractured from this hell of addiction.
Well, I am here and it's a brand new day. I hope to hear from some of you.
Thanks in advance, Terry
Whatsamata U?
Hi,
I really hope some of you here have read my first post. I am so looking forward to getting to know you. I just got home from my teaching job (high school English) and was excited to read some replies.
I hope to hear back from some of you soon. Thanks very much.

Hi Terry & Welcome to the board. Tell us a little bit about yourself. How long have you been clean, etc. Do you go to AA/NA? Im figuring yes since you mentioned you have a sponsor.
Yup addiction is a life of hell. It can & does get better with recovery. We have to learn to deal with life on life's terms & take it one day at a time. Ever heard those words?..lol I bet you have. They are sooo true though & one of the keys to this mess.
I'm glad you picked our community to join in on. Of cousrse it's fine to just "jump" right in. No better way. Things have been a bit slow today, so there will be plenty of people to come by & welcome you. There are some really terrific people here with lots of clean time & great words of encouragement. So many have helped me. I am fairly new to recovery...108 days clean & counting to be exact! I'm doing it through f2f support, meetings, counseling, working the 12 steps, & with the support of my good friends on this forum.
I hope you stick around...read...& keep posting!

Welcome! I'm usually on the Family board as I am the mom of a recovering addict. I came here in April when my girl had relapsed and I was freaking out. I can't tell you how helpful and compassionate everyone was and how much of a blessing this site has been.
I noticed how quiet is on here tonight and just wanted to say hang in there and come back often, the place is usually usually jumping. And you feel free to jump right in - I did and it really paid off for me. I have made a number of friends here on a variety of boards and I never thought people I've never "met" could be such an important part of my own recovery. Wrong again...
Peace~MomNMore

Hi Terry! Welcome to the board....lots of stories here, so read as much as you can. Also would love to know more about you. Addiction is a disease but not one that you have to deal with on your own. We're here for you!
Hello Terry,
Welcome. Just wanted to say I think it is great your sponsor suggested to find an online group and you took the initiative to do it. As cowgirl said, there are many stories here. Those nights that I could not sleep, I spent reading them and it helped pass the time and get me tired enough to finally fall asleep.
Keep posting and let us know how you are doing in your recovery.

Well, Hello!
It is just SO GREAT to meet you all! Please forgive the delay. I can hardly wait to write to each one of you after I get some serious sleep and recharge these ancient batteries.
Many thanks, Terry
