Hi, I'm New

Just wanted to say helo and Im new here, but not to recovery.

I picked this section because alc. was my drug of choice, but im just a plain old junkie (my word because I used to do/use anything, many drugs, shrooms, scripts....you know the dril hope). I use the word junkie because it reminds me that any thing is off limits. I have grate respect for setting the cicle back in moton. It only takes one. I could relapse today, any day. I am not imune or special.

Ive been clean & sober going on 9 years. My sobriety date is 7/5/1998. No braging, just intorducing myself. I smoke like a feind to.

Plz excuse my speling, Im working on it and will see if theirs a spell ck here.

What a grate place this seems to be(i haven't been hear long enough to see for myself). Probably wont be here daily, I have many pigeons and many mtgs., but will try!

looking forward to "meeting" you all
Hi Newday

Idgie.
Welcome Newday:

Joy
Hey Newday,
Welcome, and I look forward to exchanging messages with you and taking as much from you as I can! lol I'm Bob, also an alcoholic/addict, I do A.A. it's what works for me. Alcohol was my first DOC as well, although over the years I too used alot of drugs and ended up with a horrible addiction to pain pills. This isn't my first time, but I pray it's my last. For today it's all good and I never felt better. My sober date is 8 - 16 - 05. I don't post or read here everyday, but when I do stop by I will look for your posts, maybe we can all help eachother get another day. I usually post on the pain-pill page, but have backed off this time around and when I do sign in I been reading here more.

Have a great night, Take care........

Bob
Welcome and thank you for posting. Congratulations on nine years. I am a member of AA too! I have almost 2.5 years of sobriety. Look forward to hearing from, perhaps you post your experience, strength and hope for us.

(Hello Bob, Hope you and Gina are doing well...I think I saw in a post that your daughter's name is Alana, am I right? If so, that's my oldest daughter's name).

Hey VWGirl,
How ya' doin'? Yeah we're good here thanks for askin'. And yes, Alanna is my youngest daughter's name. Things are going well here, moving forward a little more everyday. I hope all is well with you, have a great day.....*wink*

Take care...

Bob
Hey Newday, I'm new to this board too, glad we both found our way here ;)
Congratulations on 9 yrs! Wow....that's awesome! I'll be looking forward to reading your posts : )
Have a great 24!
Hi Newday, good to "meet" you... 9 years is fantastic, congratulations! I'm pretty new here myself but so far it really is a great place. Look forward to seeing you here in the future... take care...
First of all, I decided to use my Microsoft Office and transfer my posts here so you can read them. I can use it's spell check, since I'm so bad at it.

Thank you for your welcome. 9 years or not, I'm just like you, subject to relapse anytime. But thank you very much.. I am humbled.

This disease brought me to my knees, and it took me many tries before I gave up the fight and decided my way just wasn't working. I tried for years. Years.

Realization sucks, giving up your best friend sucks, realizing you are powerless sucks (is it allowed to say "sucks" here? if not I'm sorry and I won't do it again), but I found after I went through that awfullness and grief it got me to accept who I am. Then to our program

Not to be silly and quote the program, but this is the easier, softer way. It really is People who are still in active add. - God Bless Them, it is such hard work.

I have a mtg. to go to, so I need to go now.

Hey Newday

Hows things I'm only new to this site myself its great.

Alcohol was my drug of choice and i only done other drugs so i could stay awake to drink more so i could black out and forget the world.

My sobriety date is 24/03/96 this is a great site as the small town i come from has two meetings a week and there has been 2 or 3 at a meeting lately.

Take care Zac

Zac, Wonderful job on 10 years of sobriety one day at time. Glad you found us and am looking forward to your posts.
