Hi Kat, Here's hoping you're doing well. I'm doing pretty good...on the downhill I think. Sleep still screwed up, but feeling better. I think that after all the years of heavy abuse, It'll be awhile to get the sleep thing under control. So be it.
Hope everything is o.k. with you. BEck
Hi Beck, hope your day is going great. I didn't get online yesterday so I didn't see this until just now. I understand how the sleep thing is a real pain. After all these months I still have trouble sleeping. I tend to sleep very little for a few days then just conk out. They have non narcotic sleep aids you could give a shot if this keeps up. If I go long enough that I'm loopy from lack of sleep I take something. Looking back on it, I think I've always been an insomniac, even as a kid. I remember not getting sleepy until time for school. (hope that wasn't discouraging, lol). Otherwise you sound pretty good! I think this sleep thing is just something most all of us has to deal with to some degree. I'm hoping at least in this way you're nothing like me and soon you're back to your old self and not awake listening to the rest of the house snoring, lol. Take care, love, Kat
Hi Kat, Good to hear from you. Actually, I know that a lot of my early drug use stemmed from wanting to sleep...alwasy been an insomniac. So I've used benadryl and stuff like that for years. I suspect I'll have to deal with it just like everyone else. I started excercising yesterday and definately feel better today. Not great, but on the downhill! Took the last couple of days off...so I can't F*** this up as I've used all my vacation. I find a lot of loud music helps. Thanks for all your support...you've been just great helping me through. Love, Beck
Beck,
Hi, glad to hear your doing well. The sleep thing will come. That seems to be the same for alot of people. I'mm alot like my dad, I could sleep through a damn tornado! lol But, on avarage I usually get about 5 hours a night. It's enough for me. I'm mostly a night person, I enjoy the peace and quiet and being alone watching a movie or reading or sitting here chatting or whatever. My sponsor for example, he told me it took him a good year before he could sleep more than 20 minutes at a time. Now my dad, when he got sober, I remember him telling me, he was so scared about having all this new free time on his hands in the beginning, he'd come home from work, go right to bed, wake up for dinner then go to a meeting then come home and go right back to bed till the next morning for work. He did that for a pretty long time. So it depends on the person I guess.
Anyway, hang in there, you sound great.
Kat, just wanna say a quick hello, I can't see a post from ya' and not stop and say hi..*wink* Love ya'.
Take care............Bob
