Hello all,
Well, as some of you may remember, I've got a bad hip that started me on the road of percocet abuse. Legit for sure but, but...but they got to be mental for me as well.
Anyway, tomorrow's the day! A total hip replacement. I'll be out for a couple of weeks but I'll return to let you all know how it went. This site has been very benefitial for me!
So, I'll be on pain medication obviously for a while but I gave my script to my wife tonight so she can administer them to me. I feel I've got a clear head for what's coming. I know there will be times but I've been saying that having the pain fixed by surgery will let me wean down and get off the pills. The need will be gone.
Thanks for everyone's support and good luck to all of you. I'll log in when I can.

Hey yeah on the surgery! I hope you are on your feet and feeling so much better real soon. Hips are real good right now so I think you will do well and be happy you had it done. My father had bilateral hip replacement and he is so much improved.
Good prayers for a great surgery and speedy recovery. Just remember ..... do the PT!

Good Luck and will pray all goes well.
Thanks for everyone's support!
I'm home after only two days and feeling great! Wow. They've come along way with this surgery. Using a walker for stability only. I can put most pressure down on the hip already. I'm home and relaxing.
Hope all is well with you guys!

Hey there
Hubby ( ex pro-football player and paying the price..lolol)
has had 2 knee relacements and 1 hip surgery...he was out of the hospital on day 5 of his hip surgery, and hes never looked back.
Here in Canada when you have such a surgery, you go home and a therpaist visits you everyday to make sure your doing the exercises, change you bandages etc....
He was not in any pain on the 3rd day of his operation and off the morphine drip on the 4th day in the morning...never needed any when he got home....he is so happy he has had these surgeries, have given him a new lease on life, and is able to walk and exercise better than he could before surgery...
he also loves going to the airport and getting patted down from a pretty lady..lolol...thats one thing you can be sure, the titanium will set off all the alarms with your new bionic joint....
The only thing you have to remember is that from here on in you need to take antibiotics any time you have dental work of any kind..even cleanings...yo dont want bacteria to be induced through the gingiva and work systemicaly through your body, because it will go to what it thinks is an invader of the body- the replacement joint.....but no big deal....you take a couple of antibitoics before your dentist appointment and 2 afterwards.....and your protected...
good luck on your surgery, you wont need it...youll be so happy you had it done..
Hugs
