Hi folks,
Just stopped by for a quick hello. First off to Terrianne, hi and I'll keep your niece in my prayers.
As I read through some of the posts here "Live And Let Live" comes to mind.
I truely believe everyone is right where they are supposed to be. Resentments
are our #1 offender, I'm living proof of that. As far as the folks on this board are concerned, I sent out to a few I thought I hurt in some way an amend a few months ago. Most of those folks replied back, for the 1 or 2 that choose to hold onto the past, thats on them. It is what it is. For me I know I had to go through what I did to get where I'm at. I've never felt better and all I can do is offer what works for me but I can't make anyone take it. Everyone has there own way of doing and seeing things. If someone says they are happy then so be it, who am I to say they aren't, or they're wrong?. For me, I need A.A. and the friends I've made in it. I accept that I can't stay clean and sober alone, and quite frankly, it's
more fun and enjoyable to do it with others, being a part of, instead of isolating.
Which is really what I've always done in the past. Sure, I used to go to meetings, speak, chair, etc..But I left it at that pretty much. I was always "FINE" when someone would ask, and left after the meeting. Today, for me, there is a before, during, and after at every meeting I attend, which is everyday. I walk in a meeting today and it takes me 10 minutes to get to my seat due to being greeted by name and saying hi to everyone, and it feels good,
it feels good to feel a part of. I have a life as well outside of the rooms, and that feels good too. Some days I'm so busy I don't even have 10 minutes to sit down.
And for me, thats what it's all about. I don't live for A.A., A.A. gives me a life.
A.A. has done for me what I could never do for myself. Thats for me.
As I read here, I see alot of inventory taking, self justified anger or people taking there will back to reply to things that to me, just aren't important or matter. "Easy Does It" "How Important Is It" and "Let It Go" are slogans I work
on a daily basis today. It's not about "What I can get" today it's, "What can I offer"... Love ya's all, have a great day...
Take care.........Bob
Bob its good to see you im so pleased your doing well jaxxxxxxxxx

Bob,
If I were ever to go back to NA, not that I am against it, by no means, no expert here on any subject besides applying makeup, I have that down to fine science, can apply in 6 minutes flat.. lol Bare Minerals Ladies..
Back to the subject at hand, that was so well written that It would have prompted me to attend NA or AA or the CIA for that matter..Why? Maybe because you wrote from the heart and it comes across as truly sincere; on how it helped and continues to help you. ,. That is what people want to read. What works, what doesn't regardless of method. I am a statistics kinda of gal, and I have researched, not much success at finding anything yet. What made you start going to AA or NA, those types of thing, a positive spin on it. Speaking for me, I would never have thought AA would have the same principles that NA does. I assumed they would have different steps.. (slaps forehead)....never been to an AA meeting. Good Post.
Thank you.
Brook

(((((Hello Bob))))),
It's so GREAT to see you doing so GOOD!!!!! I am so happy. AA has also become my 2nd family. I am getting there 30 minutes before a meeting, to read the Big Book, help with coffee and fellowship, I know just what you mean. My Higher Power, Meetings, the Big Book, my Sponser and fellow AA members keep me sober. I tried doing it by myself, it couldn't be done. I tried for my family, but still could not do it. Now I do it for "myself with support". I have 3 months clean, I am on Suboxene, but I am tapering at each Dr. visit. For me, I am clean. Sorry, do I sound preachy lololo. I am just "with you in spirit". I heard a great speaker last night, and me and Harry are off to a Gratitude Dinner tonight. Harry has over 30 days, and is attending N/A. The speaker has many years of sobriety and his story had you laughing and crying, I know you have been to many of those. Just another thought, he said, It takes the sun one year to go around the Earth, therefore, each day we wake up to a "new light". I spend most days saying the Serenity Prayer. Wow, life is amazing. Sure, we have bad days, but there is always a guarantee for "me", that it will change if I go to a meeting, talk to another fellow addict, call my sponsor, or read the Big Book. All easily available in my handy dandy tool belt lololol. I just wanted to say a BIG HELLO!!!!!! I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE DOING GREAT ;o)!!!!! Please give the family a big (((hug))). Take care, Best Wishes (Tami)

Hi Bob:
Nice to see you. When I ceased fighting everything and everyone my life seemed to go much more smoothly. My life use to be a struggle, now, not so much :-) I am happy to not be in the kung fu grip of drugs and alcohol. I'm with you, I enjoy going to meetings.
Rachel
Hi again,
Thanks for the hello's!
Tami, it's soo great to hear from ya'! I'm really happy your doing well, I miss talking to you. Say a big hello to Harry for me and congrats to you both on your time. Thats awsome! I'm not online so much anymore but do check in now and then to see whats up. I'm happy to see your both doing well, and I'll give you a call soon, we can catch up...I'm guessin' your number is still the same? If not, ours is! *wink* lol You guys are more than welcome to call anytime. Talk to you soon, Harry and I still need to make that fishin' trip someday!
Brook, thanks for the post. A.A. and N.A. are very simular, just a few minor differences, for me, I'm just more at home in A.A., but do attend N.A. once in a while, even C.A. now and then, mostly because I have friends in those fellowships, so if they speak or chair I'll go to support them. Anyway, nice to hear from you.
Rachel, it's always good to hear from you. I enjoy meetings too. I usually relax,
kick back, I always get something out of every meeting. It's the hour and a half each day I devote to doing something for me. I like to think of it as the medecine I need for my disease, alot of days I take two doses! lol Typical addict in me I guess, one just isn't enough! lol Love ya', talk to ya' soon..
Take care...................Bob

Hi Dottie,
Sry. to hear things aren't going so well. I hope things take a turn for the better for ya'. I find the Serenety Prayer works when I say it and really take the time to understand what it's saying.....
God grant me the serenety to accept
The things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference
You can change you Dottie, I don't know whats up, but, I do know if I do whats right for me, even if things around me stay screwed up, I'll get better and feel better. Whatever anyone else thinks or does is none of my business. Hang in there, this to will pass. Things always work out just how they are supposed to, not always the way we want, acceptance is the key, it is what it is.
Take care............Bob

I second what dottie said your posts are always full of wisdom jaxxxxxxxxxx
hey bob. you are a living example of what works for those ready and willing to do the work.
AA is also working for my 25 year old son -- almost a year clean and sober now.
he's enjoying and fully experiencing life -- one day at a time. the life he was created to enjoy -- by a very loving creator -- one who is full of genlteness and compassion.
good to hear from you.
bob,
thanks for the well wishes with me niece, i am glad life is working well for you as well,

Hey Bob, Good to see you posting. You sound like you're doing good and doing it right. I hope it stays that way for you. Just keep doing it one day at a time.
Tell Gina hello. I have been bad about staying in touch with those who I care about. There just are not enough hours in the day anymore. I have you guys both on my prayer list, and even if you do not hear from me, I say your names out loud to God at least once a day. : )
A wise person once told me to not loet this board get to me. At the time, the Posse was ruling here and there was much turmoil. This person predicted that the "group" would eventually erupt internally and disband. The fact that he was so right in his forecast only makes me want to follow his words of wisdom in other areas. We miss you all here, and I sorry he was right. Peace is all we need, and I hope you have found it elsewhere, as you couldn't always get it here.
You and yours have a pleasant Sunday. Take care, Bob.
Bob, great to see you posting from that eternal font of wisdom that you possess...
May God Bless You!
May God Bless You!
Carol:
So nice to see you this morning. Your words are so true. This board definitely goes in cycles. There is so much peace in your posts as well as in Bob's. You guys have what I want.

Hi everyone,
Nice to hear from ya'll. Rachel, I know exactly what you mean, and the funny thing is, as we live life on lifes terms, one day at a time, tomorrow I just may be the one wanting what you have. But as far as I'm concerned, no matter what we're going through, when we lay down at night, and we made it through another day clean/sober, then we're all winners. Love ya', talk to you later.
Take care................Bob
