I've heard after 2 days it's gone and the withdrawls are almost done. I stopped last night at 8:30 (I feel fine now, just wondering what I should expect)
Percs take more then two days to come out if you are abusing them.. You can take up until 2 weeks to pass a pee test after prolonged period of usage..The physical withdrawl sucks for the first two days then starts to get dramatically better after that.. If you get the insomnia like most people do, just take some benadryl.. You'll be alright.. well g2go ttylata.. E A G L E S...>>KYLE<<
I wasn't abusing them, I was taking them exactly as prescribed for chronic pancreatitis. So, does that make a difference in the time it stays in your system? And I don't care about the urine test or anything (My meds are prescribed and I don't take any urine tests)
Kyles right, you've got more than 2 days to get those out of your system. How long and how many? Glad your here...keep posting.

The half life of percocet is not terribly long...it can build in your system though with excessive use...
I was tapering off before I stopped completely. I went from 8 5mgs a day to 6 a day then 4 a day. So I have 2 days right?

Just keep going. It is not a life-threatening situation. The longer term battle is staying clean. Ya need a plan for that.
good luck.

And I've only been on them since october. (I was on dilaudid before that)
I'm not worried about staying clean or anything. I was just tired of taking pills so I stopped. I have no desire to take them now or anything.. I was just wondering what to expect.. Went to google and typed in keywords and got this site. Figured people here might know more than the crap I read up on since they've dealt with it..
Flu, chills, general malaise...for a few days. Very weak and run-down.
Eddie,
What does half life mean?
What does half life mean?
Briar, its the length of time it takes to metabolize in your body. A long half life means it metabolizes slowly, therefore its in your body a long time.
User...we're you abusing them? Kinda sounds like you were taking them legit. and now want off. You will feel a little fluish for about 3-4 days and then start feeling better after about a week. Be kind to yourself, drink lots of fluid, hot baths and OTC meds, like motrin and a sleep aid if you need it. Don't get caught in the trap of taking xanax or valium (seems to be a standard for dr's to prescribe), you'll only switch problems.
Hope this helps.

That's exactly the situation. I was taking them legit and now want off. I just posted because I knew I'd have physical withdrawl without them (No matter who you are if you take pills for that long you'll have physical addiction). I'm feeling kind of crappy and fidgity. But otherwise I'm ok. My pain kind of sucks though. And I have no money to go out and buy any tea or other meds or anything. My mom bought tylenol pm but it seems to do nothing..
User, if you have Chronic Panacreatitis, you can NOT just stop the pain meds. I have it too. You will be back in the hospital. I tried too. It's aweful. It is so painful. I know this disease. I have it also. It friggin hurts. You are like me. You would rather have the pain than be an addict. But CP is serious. It's not like you are taking them to get high. I know exactly the pain you are in. I get all wierd about the pain meds, but in fact, since I have had them, I feel 100% better....
If you are taking the HYDROCODONE for pain as prescribed you're doing fine. Your W/D symptoms will my minimal if you get any at all.. The only problem i see is if there is any pain still present in your pancreas, you might not want to stop taking them.. You aint addicted to them fortunately for you.. That is if what you're telling us is true.. meaning the amount of mgs a day you take by how many.Dont get on the sedatives though.. (i.e-Xanax, Valium, Kolonopin..etc..) because the withdrawl from them is actually life threatening.. Benadryl helps me get to sleep with the insomnia.. Just be strong.. If you're strong like a women you should be fine.. well w/b sweet heart.. mwazzz >>kyle<<
User..do yourself a favor and call your dr. He can help you decide what's best for you and how to get off of the meds successfully. Unlike most of us, you are legit and not abusing, so your physician should be more than happy to help. You don't have to suffer... call your dr.
Just remember that you are not like someone else. Everyone is different and if you want off of them and your dr's ok with it, then good for you. Why tempt fate and become emotionally addicted as well? Not everyone has to stay on them just because they have chronic pancreatitis.
Hoep your ok today..
