i was on suboxone about 1-2 months ago and relapsed. i cannot remeber what the doctors instructions . does anyone know how long i have to wait until i can take my sub? i have been on the message board before but i stopped because i started using again. i wuld always read but hardly ever post. please someone if you know or have experience in subs let me know. i am scared. it seems that i have totally forgotten what the doctot said and how i will feel and what to expect. i am so sick and tired of feeling this way i cannot keep going like this!! i am desperate. the guilt and shame is unbearable at times i keep asking myself WHY WHY do i keep getting myself in this f**ked situation. anyway please someone anser i really need someone to talk to right now.

i just wanted everyone to know that if you post that i have to leave right now to go help my mom. i will e back on in about an hour thanks for your replys if you do reply. anyway any help or advice i would greatly appreciate. by the way my drug of choice is heroin but this last time i relapsed it was on percs and oxys. (lies to myself that it wasn't as bad as the h) boy was i wrong!!! in all honesty at this point it feels worse. #1 i have rationalozed that it is a legal drug(if prescribed to you) which i am not but i said to myself it isn't as bad as h. i have learned that it is as bad if not worse. i ws in a comfort zone that it is not an illegal drug i didn't have to go to a bad neighbor hoood to get it i am sure you guys now what i mean. anyway i am taliking out of my head i got to go i will be back like i said PLEASE answer thank you all and this board sooooooo much

if it is a short acting opiate, you need 12-24 hours. I would make sure you wait at least 12 hours, and show some signs of withdrawl.

I have never taken sub but I have read a lot and I think 24 hours should be good enough... You may want to wait 24-36 hours to just be on the safe side of things. Call you doctor or a pharmacist in your area and just ask to be sure!
If you stopped right now tomorrow by this time you should be withdrawling. I would start out by taking 2 mgs and waiting and see how you feel and then another 2 mgs if that doesn't help. You'll have to see what works best for you. You should really call your doctor that wrote you the sub and talk to him. Just be honest about what you did and go from there!

if it's suboxone and not subutex, as close to 24 hours as you can get...depending on the narcotic you've been using. Methadone has a much longer half life and you run a greater risk of getting sick than with most of the other narcotics....24 hours, though, is what they say...with subutex, all you need is 12 hours, which is much more doable.

Its simple, when you are showing any markers of withdrawal symptoms you are ready for the Sub. So....dilated pupils, sweats, poops, cramps ect.......they dont have to be full blown just there.Its impossible to put times on this because everyones DOC and metabolism is different so too many variables....thats why first dose should be taken under the supervision of a health care profesional. Also there is no real different between Subutax and Suboxone as far as the addict who takes it. The Naloxone thats added to the Suboxone is only added to stop people injecting it and for no other reason.Hope that helps a little.

Most doctors tell you to wait 24 hours.... however, Neon was right when he said that it is different for everyone based on your body chemistry and what you were addicted to in the first place.
The sub doctor I went to said that she can tell if you're in withdrawal by your heart rate..... When the opiate is out of your system, your pulse will become rapid & your blood pressure will go up. This, along with other symptoms you are experiencing, is how the doctor can tell if you are ready or not to start the program.
I waited 24 hours after taking my last hydrocodone pill before going to the sub doc...... And she wasn't going to start me on the program at first because my heart rate was still normal (it was around 80 beats per minute).... I begged and pleaded and, sure enough, as soon as I dissolved the sub under my tongue, I started experiencing withdrawal symptoms - my heart started racing, I started sweating real bad, etc.

thanks for the replys. actually i have already startd them about 3 this morning i went back to sleep and woke again at 7am and took another piece. i woke back up at 9 and i feel fine i cannot beleive it!!! the first time i took the sub beofr i was sick sick. but i was coming of a 3yr methadone habit and was using h again. i guess this time where i was taking percs and oxys it made it easier i don't know. all that i do now is that i am so grateful and stunned that i am not sick or mentally craving right now. i hope and pray that it lasts. thanks again so much. sorry i di not get back sooner i had a little melt down last night (mentaly) but i feel better today. i got alot of things off my chest that were needed to be said to my family members. okay i am going to go i hope to talk to you guys again soon.
