I am quitting. Why? Because of financial reasons, and because I am tired of being dependent on this substance. I have plans for myself, plans that take money, so I am quitting and taking the money I spent on weed and putting it towards my life-improvement venture.
At first I am saying I want to go 28 days. See how I feel, see how much money I've saved. But I'm scared, I have not been able to go a whole day yet.
I need positive vibes, motivation, inspiration!
I want to be able to enjoy life naturally, without having to get stoned in able to relax or laugh.
Help!
Angie
Hi Angie-
Just try to not smoke today. Don't worry about tomarrow-we might not even be here then. Just try not to smoke for a few hours, then a few more. Continue taking it a few hours at a time until you go to bed. Then you can wake up tomarrow knowing that you got through the 1st day.
I haven't smoked in 17 months and thats how I do it-One day at a time. There are times when I want to smoke(to be honest- this morning I did.) But I take a deep breath, make some tea, and do something else and the feeling passes.
I do not hang out with my friends who smoke and i got all the paraphanalia (sp) out of the house.
The hardest part for me was the fact that I did EVERYTHING high. I had to find different things to do in the beginning- things that didn't make me want to smoke.I took walks, Went to get ice cream, read what others have to say on sites like this board.
If you do want to spend time with your friends who smoke, meet them for dinner, public places where you can't toke up are our best friend.
Take it easy, be kind to yourself And remember that the cravings generally pass in about 5 minutes, we can do anything for 5 minutes, even not smoke. Good luck!
