Hey guys I have to vent. It might sound like self pity but I really have got to get this out. I don't know how much more I can take without having a nervous breakdown or something..honestly. My marriage is in total shambles, the trial that I am dreading starts in four weeks, Now my elderly mother has taken ill and can't be left alone. I am the only family she has here. The only homecare she can get is for 3 and half hrs a day. Hospitals won't take her because she is chronic and our healthcare here sucks and the waiting lists for nursing homes is months. In between all this I am battling addiction and also have a daughter battling addiction who is having a hard time. and besides that I am working 7 hours a day. Today I had to take the morning off work to take my mom to a clinic for demoral shots for her pain and she was having horrible pain.I felt so sad for her.she cant be alone so in between working and everything else I go and stay with her and care for her. And in two weeks time my son is getting married so that is also hectic with preparations. I feel like I am pulled in so many directions. arggggggggggggggggggggggggg ..sorry had to get that out. Thanks for reading my posts to those of you who do.
Pirate,
You have a lot on your plate. I promise to say a prayer for you. Is there any place you can go that is special to you for just even a few hours - a time out - just to take a walk and breathe and get some kind of calm or perspective back while all of this stuff is going on that is out of your control. The feeling of powerlessness is hard to handle, so it's kind of important to just take a step back from it, even for just a short while.
As I am constantly reminded, the only thing you can really influence is your reaction to situations - because people, places and things largley remain out of our control.
I'll be thinking of you.................x

Why don't you move in with your Mom for a while?
Wow pirate, that is a lot to have going on. Just remeber that your main responsibility to yourself is to stay sober. If you loose that, the chaos will only explode into a much bigger chaos.
Take care of yourself
Take care of yourself
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can
and Wisdom to know the difference.
One day at a time pirate.
Unless you want to break. Having broken myself I can recommend it for a complete makeover, but it ain't pretty and it ain't quick. There are probably smarter ways to heal.
Take good care of yourSelf.

Hi Marie,
Looks like you have a lot going and that is life. The steps teach us how to deal with life on life's terms and it may seem overwhelming but if you do what you've been taught, use the tools you've been given, it will all work out exactly the way it's supposed to.
Go back to the basics...Sobriety first, Keep It Simple, Take it Easy....Your disease wants you to be overwhelmed....time to step out of the problems and get into the solution. Sit down and breathe and look at what's in front of you and ask for God to show you what's your business and what isn't. If it isn't your business, give it up to your HP and keep praying about it but don't use any more of your energy worrying about it (like your son's wedding)...what is your business, you need to do what needs to be done in front of you and give the results to your HP.....
What step are you on right now? Have your done a Gratitude list lately? Are you praying and meditating on a daily basis? Are you talking to other alkies and your sponsor daily? Are you asking for your HP's direction in these things?
Go back and read your post and find all the things in there that you have to be grateful for.....
You're in my prayers....
xoxo

Thanks guys for your support and for letting me vent to ya. Kat I can't move in with my mom. she is in a seniors complex called a level one seniors home. only seniors are allowed to be tennants there. they each have their little one bed room apt with homecare services. level 2 is a nursing home the kind she needs to be in now but it takes months to get there. the other thing my mom and I could never live together even if it were allowed (black and white, chalk and cheese,) get me? lol Thanks all for your advice.God bless and take care.

I know when the world is pushing in on me i have to step back and pause when agitated and then really hand over to my higher power and keep handing over if need be.
The trial is in the hands of the legal people and you are there for your daughter, also her addiction is her battle and you cannot fight it for her only she can and you again are there for support as indeed so is she she in turn can be there for you and help if she can with your Mum, wedding etc and maybe so can your son, your daughter in law to be can organise a wedding.
Your marriage well it takes two so just let your husband know in no uncertain terms to either pull his head in and help or bugga off.
I used to think the world revolved around me and what i done affected everything and everyone, at the end of the day things get done with or without me
The only thing you have to do is stay sober one day at a time, talk to the people involved in the above and admit that you cannot do it all alone:) and where help can be used, use it.
