Hey Everyone -
Just wanted to let you all know that I DID have a CLEAN Christmas!!!!! I guess God was watching out for me. When I awoke this morning, I could actually MOVE!!! I was so happy - My sister was already getting ready to come over when I called her and told her NO PAINKILLERS only MOTRIN:o) So I made it through the day - so thats it for me - I told her to flush em - she thinks I'm nuts cuz I'm still hopping around, but I know me - so I told her "NO, I'LL BE FINE - PLEASE FLUSH THEM - OR IF YOU DONT - TELL ME YOU DID ANYWAY!!!
So at dinner she told me she followed my instructions and flushed them - There were ALOT of them too!!!! It makes me pretty proud - I thought I was "caught" again - but I DID NOT like the feeling at all !!!! So, I'm doing pretty good with the Motrin - still in pain, but managable.
Christmas was wild - my son had me up real early flying his new hover craft - Trish came over with the baby and her face was lit up with joy (well, really all of theirs) I'm so happy!!!
I hope all of you had as good of a Christmas as I did. I'm stuffed!!!
Seems like things here are doing great - another blessing.
My New Years Resolution (besides no pills, of course) is to let go of all past grudges, forgive and forget and to lose 20 lbs!!!!! LOL Love you all.
Love,
Marie

Hey Tina-
I've missed you girl!!! Yes, I got lucky, I guess. Seriously, the way I was feeling yesterday, well, lets just say I figured I'd be loaded on percs today. It was like a true miracle, which I do believe in!!
Your house sounds about like mine and Kats too - kids, babies, teenagers, Great Grandpa - all having a blast- I'm sober - cant speak for everyone else:o)
Except for my two little ones!!!! I'll kick their butts LOL. Oh, what a wonderful Christmas, Tina.
And everyone, dont feel bad (Vinny) - my house looks like all three hurricanes came back and all landed in my house!!!! But what the heck, its Christmas - my house looks like this (not as bad) half the time anywayLOL.
I love you Tina - you are such a blessing to this board and such a true friend to everyone here. I wish you and your family the best for the New Year - you deserve it, woman!!!! ((((((((((HUGS))))))))
Love,
Marie

Dear Marie,
I'm so glad that your Christmas "wish" came true. While writing my response to your post regarding the fall and resluting injuries, I thought that, somehow, you were going to make this Christmas without having to use an opioid.
I think that it certainly would have reasonable for anyone, with such painful injuries, to use an opioid for pain relief. It's different, though, for those of us battling a disease like addiction. In your initial post, there was no doubt that you were upset that you might have to use an opioid and your Christmas may not have been everything that you wanted, i.e., being "clean." Those of us that have never battled addiction (friends, for example) could not have understood why not using a pain pill or two would be a problem. For those of us that are battling addiction, another day of clean time equals another day that we are in control of our lives - not opioids.
I'm so glad that your Christmas was what you wanted it to be, notwithstanding the pain that you are in. As each day passes, I pray that your pain becomes less severe. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Marie.

My house also looks like a hurricane came through. I cleaned the cat box. Thats enough for me.
Dear Ben,
Thank you so much. You are so sweet. I'm sure all of your prayers had something to do with it ~ That I truly believe. I am very happy. Still in pain, but happy, and I'm sure you can understand why.
Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas as well!!! Thanks for the warm wishes and thanks so much for having faith in me. God bless.

Marie

Danny -
What more can they expect - you cleaned the cat box - thats more than I can do right now, so dont feel bad LOL !!!!
My kids are in charge of cleaning so I'm sure my house will look like this for a week or til I'm able to bend, sweep and mop again (hey, to look on the bright side - I get OUT OF HOUSECLEANING!!!)

Marie, I'm in awe! Every good excuse in the world and you overcame! You go girl! Now I gotta think of some rapper type knick name for you. You did it now, forevermore in my mind, I will imagine you rapping, lol. I asked the kids just for the heck of it, (they're sleeping in the living room tonight with the cd player kicking away) who their favorite rappers are. (thought it might give me an idea of a name for you) Cody leaps out of the chair and throws down on a Ludacris (sp?)song. Fanta ta seee, I'd hate to post the words here. lol. When he finishes, Kes starts in on Eminem. So I've had this post before me for the last fifteen minutes watching my entertainers. I'm not going to get Mrs. Cleaver Mom of the year award. But hey, it's cool, right now they're doing a Nelly duet, not fighting, so I'm not going to trip off some lyrics. (I'm not even going to go into how they dance) Glad you had fun today Marie! This was my first holiday season clean in years. How long for you? If somebody had told me a few months ago that I would enjoy it I'd have thought they were looney. Love you, Kat
Kat, I sing along with my son...lol..
My mom would make us turn our music off, but I guess I never grew up...
Marie, way to go lady!!! That is great!!!! Merry Sober xmas..
