Ok, I tried to do Sacred Time. My goal was 9 am to 6 pm. I started at 830 am but only made it to 3 pm.
Tomorrow I am going to try to make it to 6 pm. I feel so bad, so many others are able to quit for long periods of time, I cannot even last a few hours.
I believe complete abstinence is the key to beating any addiction.
One can set oneself timescales knowing you will have one soon, and you always compramise that deadline (oh, I made it to 1pm, I now deserve this). I have done it myself, time and time again!.
It`s hard, very hard but you have the power to say ENOUGH
A great quote I picked up from here is " If nothing changes, nothing changes".
One of my own is" A conclusion is a place you reach when you get tired of thinking", you may be at this point but are compromising your choice because your scared of the fight. Dont be, I now realise that I stayed at this point for months and months and my habit became torturous. I feel free because i said enough, no more compramise, I am now in control mentally, even though I am at the very early stage of stopping(two days). Any time you feel you can`t do this, think of the people here, it`s helping me hand over fist.
May you find peace.

You feel bad? Hey my original sacred time was 9am-noon. That way I could do a wake up hit, or do one when I got back from breakfast (I always eat out) and puff at lunch. And hey sometimes if I was "good" and skipped the breakfast hit, I'd do one at 9:10, cause I built in a "grace period" so I wouldn't get obsessed with gettin one in afore sacred time. Now any counselor who has a clue will tell you this will never work, but it did. And so to recap for those who ain't already heard it I came here to prove how different I was...then it started to work for some others-hence the magpie revolution.
Go easy on yourself, try this affirmation, sticky note on the bathroom mirror ?:-)
Change is a blessing I am working toward.
