Hi, hope everyone is doing well today!
I just want to thank you all for being a part of my recovery. Each and every one of you are special to me, and i know i wouldn't be able to do it without you guys.
I have been working VERY hard on my recovery this time around. I've been really getting into my Big Book this time too. I have to because, well, because my way obviously wasn't working. (imagine that;) I need to spend as much time on my recovery as i spent on drinking, and trying to figure out ways to drink.
I have admitted, once again, that i am powerless over drugs/alcohol, and my life has become unmanageable.
I have come to realize that a power greater than myself can restore me to sanity. ( I know i can't...i'm the one that lost it in the first place, so i need help getting it back, from a power greater than me...and that is God)
So i have made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God as i understand him.
And guess what!! It works!!!! I have been repeating these three steps over and over in my mind, especially step 3...turning it over to him...sometimes 50 times a day, but i have had no desire to drink, and i feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I'm serious....God must be handling it for me now...because i somehow feel different, in a good way;)

Jayde, you've got it...oh I'm so happy for you! Great job in getting into action! I can't remember have you been going to meetings? Well, just wanted to pop in here before I go to work and again I'm glad you've made it to "shore"....with love in recovery from me and have a terrific and sober day!

I haven't been to a meeting this time yet...but i'm planning on it real soon. I'm going to go alot more than i was, hopefully starting this week;)

I was reading the Big Book last week and I read that line "May you find him now." (meaning God or HP). And I just was overwhelmed with a feeling of peace and hope and I literally fell on my knees and just said thank you over and over again and I felt released.
I hope you can find a sponsor soon - my meetings have a lot more men than women too. But I was fortunate to find a great sponsor. I saw her last night and she gave me a "just for today" card. Actually, her sponsor is a man, so I guess there are exception to the rule - but you'd want to be pretty careful about choosing a man (for obvious reasons).

hi Jayde- Big changes with the gal (an alcoholic and addict) I've been seeing and quite frankly it's really got me 4th 5th and 6th steppin all over again. Wounded spirit. Been sorta quiet. Thanks for asking! And YOU have a great sober day!
