I Hate Methadone!!!!!!!

I wish they could either get rid of methadone clinics all together or at least only let those with very extreme cases join a clinic. As it is, they will let pretty much anyone willing to pay get on methadone. I am so mad right now because a family member of mine who is only 21 just started going to the clinic. Despite everything I told him and all the advice I gave him he went anyway. I was fighting an up-hill battle because I was probably the only person telling him that he was getting ready to fall into a huge giant hole. Everyone he hangs out with goes to the clinic so they have him convinced that he has an endorphine deficiency and needs to be on it, possibly for life. Unfortunalty for him and all his friends though, WV just passed a law that I think restricts the amount of time a person can be on m-done. Thanks for letting me vent.

It was a 5yr trap for me. HELL!!!! worse than H w/d's and oxy. Been off for mth and half and still pain. Glad to b out. I didnt see a way out and rehabs wouldnt take me until i got under a 100mg and down to a low amount of xanax. A dr finally helped me. It hard to explain it to someone that is actively using.

Question s- do people use methadone to kick oxy habits? Is 10mg a day alot? Someone I care about is using meth as maintence for back pain rather than oxy. Can meth prevent back pain?

I felt like I was gonna die from methadone WD's. I was stupid and took Methadone to get high. Did so for about 8 weeks straight and couldn't believe the WD's from this drug. It's bad news and i will NEVER take that crap again. It's just not worth it. I have a friend on Sub and he is doing real well. Wish i new about sub when i was starting my recovery, but just as well. i don't need to take anymore pills....just aspirin for me.

Methadone is a synthetic form of opiates. Im my opinion its an addiction. I comtemplated methadone but I want to go through life carrying keys, wallet, some cash, and no pills.

In 11 days off of opiates I have learned a lot, and I'm so happy I did not go the methadone route. Legs have very, very minor cramps, but feeling better each day. Just wanted to share.. - Chris
