I do. My eyes stay blood shot. They are swollen because I have had only about 8 hours of sleep this week. My skin looks horrible. I have to wash my hair twice a day or it looks like I rolled around in olive oil. Can't wait until day 20. I'm only on day 6 though. Hang tuff right.

I hear what you're saying Pineknot. I could have housed a family of 4 in the bags under my eyes. My experience is that it really shows on the face. Even if you do get some sleep, there's a particular "withdrawal" look one has in that 1st week! It will go away though and you'll look and feel better then ever. Give it some time. You're doing great.

Hey Pineknot, think of it this way. Soon you will look normal and this won't matter. But just imagine what you'd look like if you continued using?

Hey guys,

Hang in there. It takes time and a will to get clean. You can do it if you free your mind. Getting clean is easy, though. Staying that way is the hard part. I have six months under my belt and that has been the longest I have gone without a relapse. Once I figured out the 'reasons' for my adiction it became easier to travel the sobriety road. It was very hard to get here, but the struggle has been worth it. Keep posting your thoughts on this board. You may also want to check into a local AA or NA group for some personal growth and support.

Uhm, not to be too blunt but if I had a choice between looking like s*** or looking like s*** and using I think I would choose the first.

I know as an addict, I too, often spend my time pole-vaulting over mouse turds.

Hang in there. You are so worth it. You are 6 days less to go. Don't give up now. You can do this! And you're gonna look better in about another week. You might not even recognize yourself!

Yes i know I just felt like complaining a bit. hahah.......Thanks , I mean it. The last time I tried to detox I relapsed. I made it 15 days and threw it all away. So reading your replies really help. Thanks

When I would walk in a bar I looked normal and the more I drank the better I thought I looked. LOL Women don't do well when they get drunk. They just get sloppy all over. Same with pills. I was really stunning with my dark circles and bags under my eyes. Sheesh. I wonder how long I walked around like that when I finally got clean. I have a friend that was around then and she likes to tell people even my hair got sober. Gawd I was a mess.
