I Need Help Choosing Meth Dose To Get Off Heroin

I was clean for 14 weeks. Been smoking 0.75g of heroin a day. I have been prescribed 20mls a day of meth. Can I use less ie; 5 or 10mls to cope and so detox and clean up quicker ? I want to be clean again within 7 days. Thanks for all advice / experiences

You should do OK on 20mg but whats the rush? The faster you try to detox without giving your body time to catch up will just set you back and you'll feel bad.

Hello whats up. In my opinion and with my experience, going from dope to any type of sub is just jumping from one addiction to another. I mainlined dope for 9 years, lost everything, my job, my girl, my apartment, my car and my family completely stopped talking to me. I put myself away one morning just woke up in a rat infested project someplace and said I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. I put myself away for 90 days. I was put on meth to help with the withdrawl symptoms. little by little the docs got me off the methadone. heres the kicker, my last 10 days in rehab i was still taking very small amounts of methadone. i broke down to my councelor and freaked out. I said "dude how the hell am i gonna feel after i stop this methadone?" his answer to me was...."I been giving you colored water for the last five days" i was shocked, i felt fine. dont go from one addiction to another man. It's mostly mental!! hope this helped

i also reccomend lots of vitamins and fresh fruit and vegtables.....melatonin will help you sleep and its natural and tons and tons of vitamin C. buy it raw in powder form and mix it in all your drinks. the pill form just lays in your stomach and most of it does not even absorb into your system. ask your doc for a couple shots of vitamin B12 to boost your energy. it all works man, ya just gotta WANT it bad enough

The Answer to your question is going to varry from person to person. Since 2004 ive been off and on methadone 4 times off subutex once. Some people do awsome on low doses 40mls and under for short time then detox off and are ok. Other people not even alright on 40 mls need to go higher and stay on longer. Ive been on 130 ive been on 40 everything in between.it is harder to get off of the longer you use it. Advise is do what works for you. If you need it a short time do it a short time do not rush to get off if you are not feeling stable.m

zerogirl is correct....i dont know how you used or how long. like i said i mainlined for 9 years. i just didn't like the methadone because i still felt like it was amind altering substance which was exactly what i wanted out of my life. maybe suboxone would be good for yo cause it dont make ya high and also you cant get high while its in your system so buying drugs is like fluching money down the toilet. BUT do not stay on suboxone for a long time. a doc can taper you off it in a week..yeah you might feel a little s***ty for a couple days but you will be toxin FREE

Thanks guys, especially "devilspowder". That's what I think and know from past detoxes. I've not stopped using yet. I plan to start taking the meth tomorrow. Gonna take 20mls. I will know that will stop the real physical stuff. The real fight is psychological and habit. I've been totally isolated for 3 weeks now just stretching out my using plus crack all day long. I am starting a day programme, groups tomorrow plus I will go to NA. I know that I don't want to get stuck on meth again for long. I've had a script for most of last 10 years and used most of the time on top. I did a rehab over the summer and had the longest clean time, 3.5 months ever. I know I can do it. I will need to stick with other people as much as possible. Your help and experiences are a start in that direction . Thanks. Much respect and love to you guys.

To the guys that use the term "meth" to describe methadone.

Please don't.

Meth in most places means crank or speed, methamphetamines.

Methadone has saved many,many lives and while it has been in used successfully since the 60's for heroin addiction, it still carries a stigma( that we fight on a daily basis basis) of just being a replacement, one drug for another which isn't true.

Anyway, just so we don't confuse people please don't use the term meth when referring to methadone.

Only if you stop taking heroin, then only meth dose can help you to get rid of heroine. Taking overdose of meth itself can be dangerous. Meth dose can make a person self-addicted and once you get addicted then it will be difficult to get rid of that. Meth should be taken as per doctors advice. Meth takes some time to react to make you free from all type of addiction. So have patience and don't try to take overdose of meth.
