Greeting, fellow, friendly earthlings....
I did not take any pain pills; however, the pain was so bad that when a friend offered me pot. I of course smoked some, boy did that do the trick of allievating the excruciating pain. I was thinking of applying for the Oregon marjuana medical card. What do you guys think?

You took ecstasy 6 days ago swearing to God you would never take pain pills again and that the ecstasy kept you clean for 5 years in the past and so on. Then 2 days ago you ended up taking percocet and now your smoking pot tonight!! I think it's time to face it your not going to stay clean right now.. That's okay.. Your being honest and that's great. If your really in pain you shouldn't suffer but your running around in circles using anything you can get your hands on... You need professional help.... See nobody can swear they won't relapse. It happens but you need to realize it and try and make the right choices. You do need a doctor and a therapist. Your way isn't working and your pain will always be there mentally and physically..until you get it taken care of the right way...Time to try something else. You know I told you earlier about calling a Ob-Gyn about your endo maybe their is a health clinic in your area!! Worth a try and maybe they can lead you in the right direction.. There are ways you can be seen for free you just have to pick up the phone and call around. Or walk into the ER bent over in pain. They can't refuse you.. Be honest about being an addict and ask for help.. Good luck~ Rae
I know about being an addict, I am not denying it, never did, but which is worse opiates or mary jane? There is an Oregon Law that if someone is in excruciating pain then they are able to get an Oregon medical card for marijuana. Besides I am on a waiting list to go into a cheap women's clinic--it takes time. And I am not going to the ER, again, so they can dope me up with morphine.

Smoking pot didn't alleviate your pain. It just blitzed you out enough to not care about the pain. Time to put on your big girl panties and deal with life, instead of self medicating and procrastinating. There are ways to get help.

In order to get medical marijuana, you need to be seen by a physician who deems you a worthy candidate. You continuously state that you can't get medical attention or go to a clinic due to not having insurance. How do you think you are going to get medical marijuana? What am I missing here?

If insurance is a problem - it's true what someone said, go to an er, tell them a doctor won't see you b/c of no insurance and you cannot function b/c of this pain. They have to see you and they can tell you where to be seen on a regular basis for your pain until the time comes that surgery is necessary.
So much of the really good stuff that would work for you is only for the rich. Just showed today on nightly news, woman who wasn't wanting to have a child now, due to career so she had some eggs frozen until the time she's ready. There's over 200 babies in the US that's been already born healthy by going this route.
This has usually been done for cancer patients before have chemo. Of course it's $14,000 and $400 a year just to keep the eggs on ice. That would be perfect for Endro patients, then you could go ahead and have hysterectomy and then have your baby when your ready.
Buying anything on the street scares me b/c I can't say I think - I know I would not have quit the pills if I could drive and buy some w/o a doctor, even thoguh I'm not crazy about all doctors, I would want those prescriptions with the 120 Lortabs on them.
I know I haven't helped a lot. I think an ER is your only choice right now and they will know you need care and find ( let them know) that you expect them to find you a clinic that will treat you. Endrometreosis is very painful and I know you can't function in that kind of pain.
Try that and see what happens.

if you keep substituting one drug for another you will just end up back to using your drug of choice.. sorry to say but it's the truth for most addicts.. as for me it was codeine, weed , codeine , weed, codeine , weed, codeine.. and always ended up back on weed.. if you are gonna keep trying new drugs be prepared for the inevitable....

You don't understand I have crippling pain from endometrosis to top that off I have a permanent neck and back injury. I had to something; I was nauseated, gagging, migraine and generalized acute pain throughout my body, so bad that I was crying.

D..you're not done yet. You have found every excuse in the book to keep using and when your DOC wasn't available you abused something else and then gave a lame-a** excuse as to how it was ok or wanted us to validate you using it.
I hope that you keep posting here, but most of all I hope that you stop typing and start reading... when you're ready to quit using and live a clean and productive life, we can show you how. In the mean time? Stop kidding yourself. You're an addict and you relapsed. And now you're headed for a run.

if it's that bad why aren't you in the hospital? If it's insurance related that really sucks and I feel for you.. you should get your a** up to Canada where they actually give a s*** about the patient rather than their wallet.. i've always hated how the medical system in America works.. Up here I've had many extended hospital visits, ambulance rides, all the meds I needed and I didn't have to pay a penny except for the 20 $ a month I pay for the basic medical plan which is usually covered by your employer up here.

I just read your post, that so sweet., Mommie, Makes me feel like a mother without being Mommie Dearest - I'm sure my sons have felt like I was at times haha.
You do need something for pain, we have talked enough and I am not trying and suger-coat this. I want e'one to try and u'stand the pain you are in and you are just trying to get some relief for - something that Gynos only treatment is pain pills if not time for surgery. I have known so many who have had this Endo - I know it is horrible pain that you can't escape, it made my 20 s'thing yr old niece beg for a hysterectomy, her's started in her teens. The doctor would in no way even consider it. She took pain pills 'til she got married and had one son, then had the surgery within 6 months. You see no send in sight b/c of wanting to have another child. Like I said, all the big stuff is for people I don't know - people with the big bucks.
You will have to find a way. Do you have someone to keep pain pills if you get to a clinic and get some. Think of the minimum amt that would help you function - that # to let the doctor know you're not just there for the pills. I don't now about e'one else but I feel like e'time I go to a doctor, he thinks I will ask for pain pills b/c I tried and could usually get a few from even my ENT b/c I had sinus infections. Anyone who has had any king of sinus headache knows, pain pills will do nothing for those.
I do want you to get some relief - don't blame you for not going for the morphine and you need more than a one time injection. You need care. It would be great if you could find a clinic to see and give you weekly medication. I think it would be hard to become an active addict if you're being seen and monitored weekly.
Maybe that's s'thing to think about.

Thanks again for your kind advice. I rather smoke mj anyday than take pain pills again. In my opinion when you stop smoking mj, one does not have withdrawls, like they do from opiates. No morphine, oxycoctins, hydrocodones, percocets or any other opiate for that matter.

if you had been reading any of the helpful posts to you D, you would know that I did have endo. I had a hysterectomy to take care of it.
So same high and might bs applies.....and do you seriously think that smoking pot is ok? You are using and abusing drugs. This is a recovery board. Do you want recovery?

Medusa...I'm not going to sit here and scold you on your choices.Like I had told you before check out resources through your county...I had over a $2,000 bill at st.Marys hospital in Rochester Mn.I didn't have any means to even pay $5 a month.I was sent a form to fill out and a non-profit organization paid my bill in full,all the administration at the hospital wanted was for me to write a thank you note to the organization.
I realize your scared.Your in pain and your dealing with your addiction all at once.Do you have a friend who can help you seek out resources?Don't let the friend do it for you,but help you.Medusa...there is alot of help out there these days.You need to find answers,not excuses.

I'm sorry hun--CG--but I do not have the money to get a hysterectomy, nor any other procedures done, until my insurance kicks in about six months from now.
