RKT there is no set time with the new knees. The surgery can Kill you you risk infection and multiple operations to get it right horror stories.
Your missing the point and i will use my story. I Had pain in 1998 was taking percs and beer and went to a doctor who said I will not prescribe any opiates.,. He said your knee needs to be scoped as he x rayed it. .Well I have AVN and my knees kinda ugly looking but the pain was due to me falling and breaking my hip. i was walking around and the pain got worse and worse right after my scope. Well I found Oxycontin and instead of seeing a doctor Itook the pills. I had a big conference shows i had to do as i ran a import company and was fearful to lose my job. Well eventually I ended up hooked on Oxycontin and just could not take the pain. I went to a specialist who said you have bone on bone in your hip.
Well If i had listened to my body right away I would have saved myself a ,lot of heartache.
The point is you should have the operation as living in pain is HEELLL

Its a no brainer. 10-15 yrs can be 20-25 yrs nobody knows. I am just sharing my experience. Boy I wish i had listened to my first doctor who said here is percs go see a specialist. Instead I found a Dr feelgood.

No, Jeff. I didn't miss the point. I fully understand what you said and your situation. It's different for everybody. I don't know what new knees your talking about, but my dad had it done 3-4 months ago and unless they came with "new knees" during that time i believe he was given the best. I'm just telling the experiences my dad and brother in law went through as the surgery is hard to recover from. Didn't you say you had some kind of bone disease as well. Could that have contributed to what it did to your hip? I don't know Just asking.

Bottom line technology is amazing and where a broken hip would have killed an elderly man/woman now they are dancing in a month.
Look I am just posting to someone i know has been suffering for a long time. I pray she finds a good doctor and gets the knee fixed and any other messed up joints.

Jeff......i'm really not trying to start something here with you. I'm not a doctor so i prob shouldn't have said anything at all. I was just sharing expierences. i've only known roe a few weeks, but it doesn't make me care any less bout her. i don't want to see her suffer any more than you do. She should follow her doctors advice (which I don't know what that really is). let's just calla truce and let it go at that Ok?
