If I Could Shut My Mind Off!

I was lucky. I got clean in a rehab with all kinds of staff around to help me at all hours of the day. I realized after I got clean that I had suffered for years off and on with depression but was medicating myself through my use. It helped for many years and then the drugs took on a life of their own and started controlling me and weren't working anymore. That is when I hit my bottom. Depression is no picnic but it still is better than the life I had at the end of my using.
I'm so happy for you that rehab worked but sorry to hear about your depression. Are you on medication for that? How long ago was rehab for you?
If you'd like to continue our conversation tomorrow, I'd be more than happy to. I certainly don't want to take any more of your time, I know it's late where you are. Thank you for helping me through this difficult hour. I did not use but I was close!!

I went through rehab twice. First time for 5 weeks. second time was for months. I take antidepressants and weekly psychotherapy. If you think you can sleep now I'll let you go and also would like to chat again tomorrow. Let me know if you would like to try to sleep and if so I say good night and pleasant dreams if not I'm still okay.
junem,would it be rude of me to just leave after all the time you have invested into me?
I can honestly say, talking about my cravings tonight has helped a great deal.
I think I'll be okay and tomorrow will just have to be a different layout so I don't end up feeling like this again (probably do huh) I have heard that coming off of opiates runs you into a depression <?> Is that one of the sideeffects of w/d ?
You must be tired, I know I'm getting there.
I can't thank you enough.
Without you, I would have paced a little more, stared at my screen and eventually would have taken that pill, so tonight I am grateful that fate brought you here when I needed you.

Good Morrning Crystal, you have some great ideas there, especially trying to write my thoughts down. I guess I never really focussed on that too much simply because when my mind races like that, none of it makes any sense. They go in circles, come and go so fast, I wouldn't know where to begin my sentence. But you're right, it's worth a try.
I'd have to try out your breathing technique first to calm a little and then begin my journal.

GOOD LUCK AND LOOK AT THINGS REALISTICALLY MY THOUGHTS ARE CRAZY AND OUT OF CONTROL TOO AND REALLY TEARING APART EACH ONE IS A LOT OF WORK BUT IT HELPS TO REVAMP
I RATHER SPEND THE WORK ON THIS THAN TRYING TO WISH MYSELF BETTER ALTHOUGH I DO THAT TOO

Hi sav im so sorry your not feeling too good hun i hope your better today my taper is going badly also i seem to be having most in the mornings then craving in the evening i set myself 10 a day but just looked at calender and see im having 11 more and more often not too bad but i need to watch things its hard to taper but i guess the best way for some people. take care hun jackie xxxxx

Yup it was a pretty rough evening JC, hope you are doing well. I'll be around tonight :-)
Jackie how is your taper going? What kind of plan did you make for that and what are you tapering off of?
Also, Crystal, thank you for your encouraging and kind words; today is a little better. I spaced my last dose 13 hours apart and just had a dose of one pill. I guess you can hardly call that a 'dose'. I'm not planning on takling any more until later tonight to follow my schedule and then none until tomorrow.
