If You Can't Afford Sub Or Insurance Won't Cover..

Hi everyone, I thought I'd post this info in the hope that even 1 person will benefit from it..

I work for a pharmaceutical company that manufactures infertility drugs which are not covered by insurance and are unbelievably expensive (thousands of dollars per cycle, with no guarantee you'll get pregnant).

We have a program for people that cannot afford the drug. It's called "compassionate care". If you qualify we send IVF meds to your physician and the patient gets them for free. (Note: this has to be done through your doctors office, i.e., we don't ever ship meds directly to a patient)

I would imagine that most pharmaceutical companies have similar programs in place and I urge you to inquire if you need assistance with Sub (or any medication you are prescribed that is not covered by insurance for that matter). The company I work for gives away free drug to HUNDREDS of patients every month. A lot of people do not know these programs even exist. Talk to your doctor and ask for his help. My company provides a form to all of our docs who prescribe our drugs...if they have patients who qualify for free drug (for my company you must have a combined household income of less than $45K to qualify) they simply fill out a form and fax it to us and we then ship the medication to the doctor (most cases it gets shipped out the same day) who then gives it to the patients. Because of HIPPA and confidentiality, we don't even see the patients name - just thier initials, their doctors address, what meds they need and a check mark in the box if they qualify financially.

Also, I used to work in a doctor's office where the doctor had lots of samples of medication on hand (everything from Benadryl to Viagra, antidepressants, and even pain meds). He saw a lot of patients who had no insurance and often gave them samples. I realize all physicians may not do this, but it's worth asking your physician if you truly are in need of the medication, have no insurance and have difficulty affording medication your doctor is prescribing.

Today is day 3 on Sub for me and it is a lifesaver. No WDs. I'm on a relatively low dose (6 mg) and will begin a slow taper soon.

I've gotten a lot of support from this board and now hope I can start giving some back.

:)

Congrats on day 3, you sound very positive.

Thank you for your post. I am sure many of us have no insurance.... after all, this is America. I am sure it will help someone. Your time and effort in posting it is greatly appreciated.
very good post....thanks for the info!

Kelly,
I thought your post was great! I'm sure that someone out there will benefit from your information.
I'm also on suboxone and if insurance didn't pay for it I simply would not be able to afford it.

Thanks again for the info.

Gagrl, Most of the doctors have forms that can be filled out thru them I know that we have done this on many meds that have been prescribed for my husband and we could not afford.. I think the dr will even send them in for you most of time..
Gagrl... Are you from Georgia.. I kinda thought you may be from your name anyway,, I am also, there is a program called Ga. partnership for caring they also help people with no insurance that cannot affort certain medicenes.. We used them lots of times and they paid for alot of my husbands and my medicene also..We have looked into alot of these kind of programs since my husbands stroke we have no insurance and limited income, so alot of them have really saved our lives, they paid for medicenes that he had to have and me also that without them we could not have afforded them.. Let me know if you need any help.

GagGrl - my company doesn't manufacture Sub drugs (or any narcotics)... We are only in the business of infertility medications, MS meds, and a few others...
My company couldn't help someone with an opiate addiction..
Sorry
