hi everyone it has been a while
my name is gina i joined in febuary when i came out of jail clean of the heroin but still on methadone, unfortunately i relapsed for a few weeks but then in april i found out i was pregnant, since then i have stayed of the heroin, am still on a methadone programme but am doing well.
In january i was on 70ml but then going into jail they reduced me to 50ml when i got out i went to the doctor who reduced it again to 45ml, that is when i found out i was pregnant.
since then i have been working with my doctors to slowly reduce it, i have been reducing it since then by 3ml a week i am now on 27ml and am over the moon that i am doing so well.
i have had my first scan at 12 weeks to see how the baby was doing it has a great heart beat and the doc said everything looked fine.
i am now nearly 5 months gone and have my next scan in a few days i cant wait.
it has been very differcult but i am going to keep positive, i have bought i thing called a doppler so every time i feel a bit low or feel like using i just listen to my babies heart beat using the doppler and i suddenly feel boosted again.
i never thought i would get this far and in about 10 weeks i will be off the methadone completly. and have 11 weeks left till the baby is born, it is due of the 22nd December,

Congradulations Gina!!! That is great news. Very proud of you and I know you will have a healthy happy pregnancy. They sure sound like a horse galloping on those machine!

glad to hear all is well. CONGRATS ON THE BABY. when are you due? i'm due december 27th we may find out the gender Augest 11th at my 20 something week ultersound.
"CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS" what your doing is great, and you sound like your really determend to do this for you and your baby, the bond that you two will have will be unbelieveable because you have been through so much together already, i hope everything goes well with your pregnancy and the birth, its really hard work but when you look down at your new beautiful baby in your arms for the first time, you will know its all been worth it... have you thought of any names yet? i knew my baby was gonna be called skye from the first day i found out i was having a little girl and her middle name is tebelle, tebelle means very beautiful in french... when i was at the registery office to have her name legal on her birth certificate, there was a frence couple there and they turned round to each other and was saying tebelle i asked what they were saying and they told me tebelle meant very beautiful, i told them that would be a nice middle name for my baby and they were chuffed coz its like thy gave her her middle name... everytime i think of her middle name i think of them both, they were such a lovely couple.....
