Im Writing A Book About Drug Use And Need People

hi everyone,
my name is darrelle ferguson and i live in scotland in the uk. i am currently writng a book about drug use through my experiences after being addicted for 5years. i am clean now. in my book i would like to put other peoples stories in and what their experiences were like for them. because everyones experiences are different i am needing volunteers to take part. your real name doesnt have to be printed in the book if you dont want it to. all i need is stories of peoples journey through drugs wether you are now clean or not. how did you get started on drugs, what did you feel, what symptoms of withdrawels did you have, what drugs you were on, how did it effect your everyday life and your family. these are questions that i would need answering. if you are interested in taking part reply to this topic with your information and if you want to add you e-mail address i will contact you back.
i will be very grateful for all people who want to take part and i look forward to hearing from you all.

Hi, sounds like a good ideal to me. You can contact me at jengoley@yahoo.com . I was a drinker/pill/pot user very young "like 11" turned to coke later in my teens then at 24 Heroin I.V . Been off H 21 months now, i still have a drink now and then. I'm in the usa i also have a 21 year old brother active heroin addict hep c +. I lost coustody of my two childen, lost a home, i read another post of yours about tough love. I tend to think that's not the answer or solution for every addict "in your post it came off like you thought it was the ultimate answer". Some times rock bottom will cause a person to change sometimes rock bottom will lead into a deeper darker addiction. "Family tough love" ment nothing to me they were never there before the addiction. I never counted on family for love or to support my habit. Sober I still don't count on family. I QUIT because I loved my kids, I got tired, i hated me, I could not give anymore to H. Tough love was never a part of my recovery. If you want more info and "what not" e-mail me. I belive in letting the addict fall all by themself but, i don't nessarly belive in tough love. Good luck with your book "i've thought about writting one but, gave up the ideal. "
Hi. My name's Shirley. I live in the US, in the mountains of North Carolina. I started drinking when I was 13 and moved on to heroin kind of late in life. I was 33. I already had a major drinking problem. I used heavily for 10 yrs. and went through several rehabs and programs. Nothing helped. I am now on methadone. I have been for a few years. I live a pretty normal life now, although I do have problems holding jobs and managing my personal life. I was homeless for years when I was using.Someday I hope to be free of the methadone but right now it's much better than the alternative. You can reach me at shirleyisterrapin@yahoo.com. Good Luck with your book.
hi guys and thanks for your replies. it is really good to hear so many of you are now clean or on methadone scripts. i was on methadone for years and it was the best choice i ever made. it is harder to come off of as the withdrawals last longer than other opiates like heroin. i am glad you have decided to let me talk to you for my book and those of you who have gave me their e-mail addresses will hear from me soon. i know that talking about these issues are personal and difficult to talk about so if there is something you dont want to talk about then dont. i wont force anyone to do or talk about things they dont want to and if you dont want your names mentioned in the book then you have my word that it wont. the only name that will be real in my book will be my own as talking about drugs addicts and dealers could get a lot of people into trouble with police as you will all be aware.
the only person who will have access to all the names of volunteers included in my book will be me. not even my publisher or my agent will know real names so dont worry about that. although your stories wont be confidential as they will be on shop shelves but if there is anything you tell me that you dont want issued and want to be kept confidential then you have my word.
enough about the book any way, i think ive went on about it to much. for those of you who is on a detox at the moment i wish you the best of luck and those of you who have succeeded in getting clean congratulations and may your life be whole again.
take care everyone and i hope to hear from you soon
