Hi
Does anyone know of an implant you can get put into your body that will stop your addiction for 6 mnths? I met someone who had it put in in Harley Street was very expensive but he thought was fantastic but have lost touch with him and no-one else seems to have heard of it. Apparently it is used in some countries but not here in England

Yes,I've heard of an implant of stuff called Naltrexone--it is, I believe,stuff like Antabuse--where if you do dope you do not feel it.I'm not sure if it would make you sick, as supposedly Antabuse does if you drink.But a couple folks I know got them .They cost $4000 (That is Aussie dollars).The people I know said they felt really awful for a long time, v.sick, terrible insomnia,etc. The implant supposedly lasts 6 months. I think these people had to get them as part of a sentencing deal-they had been arrested.They both said they worked but they didn't seem to like them very much.

..they do have it over here in England..but im not sure who you can see to talk about having it done..i dont know if its done on the nhs eirher or only private..but it is done over here..Robbie..

Yes you can get it done here. I know you can get it done privately on the Isle of Wight. I think if you search naltrexone implants it will come up

When i was in treatment some woman was thinking of having something implanted in her, is it called a "BLOCKER".

If so you can get it over here on the NHS

The only naltraxone implants i've ever heard of last 3 weeks, but that's here in the states
