Well real fast, im on day 32. Doing very well. I ACED my accounting final tonight. I knew everything on it. What a wonderful feeling.
Now i got Brooks opinion but i would like to hear a few others. Now we all know i went ct off the norocs on Nov 10th. I saw my addiction specialist that week. I did NOT take sub. SO he gave me an ad and some serequal for sleep. Now granted I used all my sick time and vacation time for my detox. I have no more until next year. I am supposed to see that dr this friday. I can not call in sick. No way around it, I can not risk losing my job or looking bad. I looked bad enogh a few weeks ago.
SO my next day off is Martin Luther Day Jan 15th I think. I can sure go then. Im afraid this guy is going to be riude and weird about me not being able to go this week. He must have a million patiets. Every time we talk he says so how much sub are we down to! Im not taking any you idiot!

Anyways just wanted some feedback. I can not go this friday, i am doing extremely well, i dont want to jeopardize my job, no way no how.

Just my 2 cents but if you're not taking the sub and you don't intend to (I don't think you do) and you are attending meetings (I know you are) they why bother with the sub doctor....Just my opinion but your job is much more important right now....You're doing great!

Thanks Lily. No sub, no way. I just learned in life never to burn a bridge, I emailed the dr, i cant call him since he turns his pager off at 5pm. He didnt write back. Tomorrow is another 9 hour day at work and I have my last final. Tell me when i can call him lol

Dog a three month contract? I am confused. Never heard of a contract with a doctor. They can fire you and you can fire them.

Yes it does make sense...I remember the 3 good days then a bad one and so on...I had forgotten that! Pretty soon it gets to be mostly good and well, everyone has a bad one now and then...I wish I had kept a journal too...Just for reminder....Keep up the good work and good attitude!

I would think the 3 month contract is for those that are on sub, and it sounds like most everyone else must be on it if he keeps asking what your down to..lol
I would do just what you did..email him saying you SO appreciated his help at a time in your life that you needed help and remind him AGAIN you are NOT on sub , are going to support meetings at night but cannot take anymore time off work to see him or you will jeopardize your job....
( Which in itself would set you back up to taking the pills and getting caught back up in your addiction...)
You know what you have to do..and your Dr should understand..

I Echo what Jeff said...no need...your not taking Sub and don't need a script...so just tell him that. Why do you think he cares...are you saying that this Doctor made you sign a contract to take sub? I am confused...lol..nothing unusual there...but he is just a Doctor..not a Judge....blow him off....why are you so worried about it...you got clean your way and its working...so just keep doing what your doing.
Cancel the appointment and make one if only if you feel you need to but sounds like your committed to not taking Sub so I don't see what the point would be to going now or in January

Actually come to think of it...I signed a contract too...I was so hurting I can barely remember...but what it was for was....I do things his way..period no if ands or buts...or its the highway!

Btw............You are amazing, I read your posts everyday and I see how hard you are working for this keep it up.
You have said many times "no Sub" and that was your decision to make, and I think it's great that you were able to go cold turkey.
But...........I will say that sub has saved my life for sure, It is not for everyone, as you have said, but it is a great great tool for those who have struggled for so long.

This is my second time seeing this dr. I paid credit card for the visit. The first time he sees you, he takes some medical info, took my blood pressure and made me sign a three month contract. I will see him one month, two months and the third month. I dont know why. Its just the way it is with him. I have no choice but to cancel my appt on friday. Tough luck dr. I never liked him. To be honest he seems high all the time. Just an observation
ps- im stresssing my but of. I have my last final tomorrow and its soo much studying. I dont know if i will do well. Boy i need a break. I had to miss my companies holiday party this year becasue of my darn test tomorrow night

Hi Jodi! Just wanted to reiterate that Suboxone has definately save my butt! I just don't know how I would have done this without...so nice to not have to go through w/d which was easy compared to all the mental bullcrap afterwards. I am not sure how long I wil stay on it...not up to me....I am at the mercy of my doctor that has a ton of experience.
That being said I am in no rush..just feels fabulous to not have to do all the things that I was doing while in active addiction. I was a shell of the women I am today!

I have been on it for a while now, and my Dr. is in no rush ...I am in not either for that matter, Taking the sub, beats where I was before any day.
I hate to think of where I would be now without it. I am so glad you have had the oppurtunity to give the suboxone a try, I can see a huge change in you, you sound GREAT :)
Has changed my life, and I just wanted to be sure that was said, While it is not for everyone, and we all must make a decision based on what's best for us.........It is really a great medication for many people.
