Feminax is addictive since it contains 8mg codeine (as well as paracetamol {known in the USA as acetaminophen], caffeine and hyoscine)
Hyoscine, an anticholinergic essentialy acts on smooth muscle and relaxes it. It is commonly used in preparations for menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea). Hyoscine is not addictive.
