OMG I didn't expect to wake up feeling the way I did today. I literally feel like I am in my first or second day of w/d. It's worse then just flu symptoms. I have bad diarrhea and my mind is just racing. You all know what I'm talking about. Is it possible to be experiencing PAWS after a year? I pray that this doesn't last more then one day. What is going on?
Shelly
Hi Shelly!
I am not sure what is going on with you! Sorry you are feeling so badly. What is happening with your recovery, I am sorry, I am not fully aware of where you are. Have you stopped taking something recently?
Update me, okay?
Love,
Sarah

Thanks for the reply Sarah. No, I haven't stopped or started taking anything recently. My daily meds are 20mg. of celexa, and 1.25mg of cenestin(hormone). I've been taking these medications for over 2 years since my hysterectomy. I'm 35 years old so I don't think I'm going through menopause or anything like that. I've been off pills for almost exactly 1 year. As far as my recovery goes, I have pretty much completely stopped all programs and anything else I used to reach out to, except this board. I know I need F2F like right now. Have you ever felt like the minutes were going by like hours? That's how I feel today. It is so cold and rainy outside. Please keep me in your prayers that tomorrow will be better. Thanks.

Shelly,
I have heard that there is actually scientific studies that show PAWS symptoms being worse at 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 6 months,
12 months and 18 months after detox. Ironically they coincide with
many of the same AA/NA milestone dates ....
Its not withdrawals, its something else.
I guess it must be a stomach virus. I've been up since 4a.m. with diarrhea. Thanks for your responses.

I know you don't feel well, but make sure you stay hydrated. Drink lots of water, gator aid, hot tea...whatever you can stomach.
So sorry you aren't feeling well Shelly. I am in the midst of menopause, and it doesn't make you physically "sick", except maybe a little more tired than usual....but it does make you CRAZY! LOL, just kidding.
I think you have a bug too. Yuck...take good care of yourself.

Sarah,
I've been trying to drink lots of gatorade and eat jello and popsicles, that's about all I can handle. About menopause making you crazy, well I already am so I can't imagine what I'll be like when my time comes, LOL!! Have a good weekend.

Sugar and Gastro/Diarrhoea
Hi Guys just a tip that might help you. Anything that contains a lot of sugar makes diarrhoea worse. Sugar draws water into the gut by reverse osmosis and more fluid ... well you know how it goes :)
Gatorade is a no-no, Coke and other similar drinks are a no-no.
If you are going to rehydrate with posicles, get the ones made from oral rehydration solution. coke or gatorade should be diluted: 1 part gatorade, 4 parts water.
