Since I started work on June 16th I haven't attended a meeting or a therapy session. so my sponsor is setting up a meeting for me tomorrow and I am taking time of work to go into town and attend. It's been difficult for me lately and I need to meet with him in person and others for the sake of my recovery. Skg if you read this I often think when I first came to the board you had 8 or 9 months of sobriety behind you then and you seemed to be so much more advanced than I will ever be and I was looking forward to getting up to the months so I could feel as good as you did. crazy I know but I am long ways off from where you were. Anyway just felt I needed to share that and thank you all for being my support group
Marie, I can't imagine how you feel. If I go a week without a meeting my head gets squirrely. I need to touch base with my my safe place and that's the place I got sober. Find the time to go to therapy if you can't get to meetings. You're taking to big a chance trying to do it without face to face support.
Hi Pirate,
Good for you for recognizing what you need to do to maintain your sobriety AND actually doing it. Getting sober doesn't change things from bad to good, it changes them from false to real; real isn't always easy. Hang in there and don't forget to take it
