I just got off the phone with my friend who just confessed he relapsed.
He is 52 and this is very common for him. So he told me yesterday he took
20 mg of methadone in the morning and about 10mg of methadone at 6pm last night. Then he took some subutex this morning at about 930 am (4mg). He still has runny nose and feels bad. Did he take it too soon? What will happen if he gets sick? should he go to the hospital? thanks for any help---fire

Fire you are supposed to be 24 hrs at least into W/D before taking sub. Your friend needs to talk to his doctor.
If he is just taking opiates he should be o.k just SICK--is he mixing benzoos then I say go to hospital.
Tell your friend to not take anything and ride it out until tomorrow then start the sub and SEE HIS DOCTOR

he took it 15 hrs after his last dose of methadone
he doesnt take benzos
he is in NC --- he went there to get away from everybody here in miami. he thought he could detox with some bupe before he comes home.

Hi I dont really post over here anymore because of the arguing and have moved to the heroin board.I think that if your friend waited 16 hrs he will probably be ok but the deal is this he is not going to feel better on the subs unless he only takes the subs and nothing else.I was 36 hrs into w/d myself and I never got that icky feeling any little bit of relief for me was wonderful.I am also in NC I live in Raleigh where is your friend? Just wondering is this the first time he has ever used subs? Is it a plan and script given to him by a dr most importantly.I think that he could probably take like 2 more mgs after it has been 24 hours after the 20 mgs of meth and feel a little better but much better on the 3 rd day and tell him to try and relax and to take care of his self as if he were going thru a cold turkey w/d the hot baths and light food and cut back on caffeine .Does he go to meetings for support? Let me know if by chance your friend is near Raleigh.I actually go to Durham to get my subs that is where my dr is located but it is also a heroin consumed city its crazy over there I go straight to my dr and then home!! he is doing it on his own--i dont know where/how he got the sub. anyway, he has gone through more detoxes and treatment centers than i know. He was freaking out because he thought he took the sub too soon and would have to get carted off to the hospital. he is staying w/ his sister and nobody knows.
Drugs suck--getting off them bites too. I hope youre well!! thanks again, fire :)
