Ok Im really confused right now...I have posted twice tonight and it is not there.
Hi everyone, Im not ok. I used once 5 months ago. My husband came to visit and we did what we always do. I told him never to come back. It was my only relapse in 3 years. But I struggle everyday. I want to get high so bad. I am sick of struggling and if I was not HIV pos I would probably give up. but when Im out there prostitution is my only income and I cant do that anymore...today was real bad...I wanted to get high so I got a six pack and some cigs instead. I quit smoking a year ago. I just didn't know what else to do. I don't want to fight anymore...Im so tired. I kinda wanna die. I shot up water recently. ....

Thank you I feel a lot better today. ....a little embaressed about coming on here last night when I had been drinking but I'm really happy I didn't whined up with a needle in my arm or out on the streets.
It happens. What kind if any of support group do you have? No matter what you don't have to use over it. Move forward and keep getting back on the horse. HUGS!

Much as you probably dont realise you really helped me with my recovery, I remember a post you did ages ago, filled with such love and inner strength, it inspired me to try to emulate your spirit, and I am clean and happy again, and my life is starting to really come together we all need support and love at times, and its a beautiful thing that we can share and help to ease each others burden even if its only for a bit, and on the other side of the world sort of (Liverpool)

Things are looking really good for me I have moved and started a new job (mental health recovery worker) and am back with my misses, and feeling very blessed, but I still remember all the help and support and I got and am very grateful

Take care, keep your nose clean and check in so I know how you are. It is good for everyone that visits this board to see that we can recover from addiction if we just try.
Enjoy what you have accomplished. Is the work you are doing something you have always done? You are the perfect person for it because of your addiction!
The clinic I go to is changing its name to Aegis Treatment Centers...as of this year. They are so busy admitting, rather changing the patients over that now have medi-cal thru the new Covered California plan. The paperwork must be horrendous. I know our &%#$^ president said nothing would change in Americas medical stuff but my rates went from like $449. a month to $620.!! And THAT is just for me.But that is neither here nor there.
However. I am glad that so many folks that desperately need medical care are finally going to get it and that our patients can get the addiction treatment they need. I know the cost alone keeps many from coming for help. I would love to do what you do but without a license and/or a degree I am unable to be hired even with first hand knowledge of addiction. We joke that we have more knowledge that the counselors they assign to us and that we counsel them! Most of them weren't even born when I was using...LOL.

Its not a case of more comfortable this is someone elses post and I didnt want to impose, there are quite a lot of great things happening for me, and I would be happy to share online with everyone, if you thought it might help others to see there can be light and a life filled with purpose after 30+ years of being a smack head. And what one of us can do anyone of us can also do, and theres things like how I got the job etc, that I dont want to bore people with, but you did show an interest in getting into the field and I was just going to explain how I done it.

We were asking for Jessi L when she stopped posting quite a while back and she answered a few times and we havent heard from her in a long while now. I started emailing Jack at home because he put his email here, and MomNMore too, but I know what you mean and your concerns about it being on here..
The you tube of the little pug Loca was adorable!! I shared it with my granddaughter and she loved it too!! I have worked with animals my entire life so I am always watching videos of animals of all kinds.Some are so good!
I agree that anything you can share about your recovery will be fantastic for those who are still struggling with their addiction. I have to go to our clinic in the morning to pick up my 2 weeks worth and chair our 6am K2R (Keys to Recovery) meeting. We have a few regulars and the past few weeks we have had 4 to 6 patients. As an extra incentive our clinic manager gives us $5.00 McDonalds cards to raffle when we have 5 people or more in a meeting. I put everyones name in a box and shuffle them and pick one. For most patients they are appreciated.
So SPEAK, your Dirty Dingusness and tell your tales of addiction and recovery!!!
