Been thinking- (can ya smell the wood burning)
Im up a lot of times at 4 -5 am and I see these commercials(as a matter of fact they are on all the time )- - for you to "ask your doctor , for this such and such pill"- cant sleep? problems with sex? bladder problems? women's issues?? etc.. etc.. the list goes on- - just ask ol Doc* *
When did this happen?? It wasn't too long ago when you didnt ask your doctor for any particular type of drug- -he told you what you might need
This is part of the problem- these pharmaceutical companies are advertising like crazy , telling us that we will be better off if we just took this drug- - "ask your doctor"
Then these doctors - who are in bed with these pharmaceutical companies are more than happy to precribe them for you. - Something is wrong with this picture, Why is the patient ,who has no knowledge or education in medicine (except on Webmd.com) telling an medically educated person what we need. ?
Should he figure it out and tell us?
You guys get bombarded with this sh*t overseas?
just wondering
jack
There is a pill for everything nowadys, eh? It is easier to take a pill to solve a problem than to face the problem head on....we should all know. From what i gather, the medical people, companies over in the states generate that much money that no one hardly ever challanges them, is that the case?
I feel like running to the doctor every week for help, i don't as i know where it will lead to, but there is people who will to get that help...and the problem will always be there. If i went to the doc tomorrow and said i was depressed i would defo get offered pills, defo......
taking a pill is the easy answer to a problem...... and the pill issuer get a sh*t load of profit....

..Yep i reckon doctors give out pills and other stuff way to easy..back in the day there was a lot of peeps asking the doctors for prozac..wether the doc gave it to them i don't know but your post does ring true about the advertising for prescription medication..i also think they give out way to much methadone to young people (16-17-18 and so on) and the dosage is way to high..in the mid 90's my mates nephew (16 yr old) got prescribed 70ml of methadone and he only had a 20 a day habit ?..im not saying all doctors are like that but im sure some are just to line their pockets without thinking of the consequences of the younger generation..Robbie..

Yeah, Jack, this business of incentivizing doctors and advertising meds has spiraled out of control. It's why some meds have been prescribed and then pulled because they have killed people. We think we know so much, but we only know what they tell us...scary stuff.

We're a quick fix society so who can blame us?
I mean with the innanet nowadays, people are becoming very educated in terms of medicine and treatments.
I don't dig it personally, but hey, it's America. We want everything yesterday with no work.

I remember years back (02) i woke up skint at 12, had a plan schemed up by 1, had an appt for the docs for 3.... then it was the old sob story , "need meth...heroin addict, but i work doc so need it weekly/fortnightly.........."
what a few tears will do eh?.... it was so easy then.....

I agree with you all....Docs can be manipulated very easily,up until 2yrs ago i got a script from my local Doc.without telling him i was on M.M.T....I got monthly 30 dalmane,30 royphnol,115 valium,30 zyprexa and lastly an a/d....so i had this goin on for 6yrs,what i didnt take myself i sold onto a mate....benzos on the street are a much valued commodity. As said by others the Docs can and will prescribe, medication that is being pushed on them by the large drug companies i.e Roche for all yer benzos,Napp for yer pain pills and so it goes.So really both the Doc&drug companies are in cahoots together....legal drug pushers really and i cant see it changing any time soon.....its all about the MONEY!!!! thats it.....take care all........Davey
