(CNN) -- Six West Virginia residents have been charged with kidnapping, torturing and sexually assaulting a Charleston woman for at least a week, the Logan County Sheriff's Department said Monday.
Sheriff's deputies went Saturday to a Big Creek, West Virginia, residence in response to an anonymous tip that a woman was being held against her will, the department said in a news release.
As they spoke with a woman on the front porch, "a female inside the residence limped toward the door with her arms held out, saying, "Help me."
The 23-year-old woman had stab wounds on her left leg and bruises around her eyes, authorities said. The wounds were about a week old, the release said.
"Deputies found her with two black eyes, part of her hair had been pulled out, she had lacerations on her neck, and she had been physically, mentally and sexually abused," Logan County Sheriff W.E. Hunter said.
The victim was forced to eat rat and dog feces and drink from the toilet, according to the criminal complaint filed in magistrate court, The Associated Press reported.
Deputies arrested Frankie Brewster, 49; her son Bobby, 24; Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, West Virginia; and George A. Messer, 27, Karen Burton, 46, and Alisha Burton, 23, all of Chapmanville, West Virginia. All six were held Monday in lieu of $100,000 bond each, and all have asked for court-appointed public defenders, according to AP.
Charges range from kidnapping and torturing to malicious wounding and battery.
Those arrested are white and the victim is black, and the FBI plans to investigate it as a possible hate crime, according to AP. The sheriff's department requested the FBI's participation, an agency spokesman told AP

This poor lady........her photograph was in the paper today in her hospital bed, and her poor mom is there holding her hand.........the media is saying they lured her there via the internet.......but her mom said it wasn't true.
Kev, like GYAC said yeah the crystal meth is bad........and pray it don't show up over there.........not only is it dangerous to the folks that use it.....it's a hazard when the cook up........all kinds of craziness with chemicals and all....it can blow up an entire city block supposedly and they ain't the brightest bulbs in the light socket these people.........I never did it thank heaven........it was huge in my city especially back in the early 80's...........my dear friend who was a flawless beauty she got hooked.......she died years ago........that stuff took her down and out..

I was watching a program that featured a young man doing time who's face, neck, and arm was burned(badly)do to his"workplace"exploding. For the longest time it (Crystal)was a rural drug of sorts. In my days of drugging their were different drugs floating around the streets of Baltimore but Meth was not one of them. I never heard of it hitting the inner cities until maybe 2yrs ago. It has hit the club scene real heavy(from what I have been reading)in the inner city. I agree.....they could have been hoped up on vinilla coke for all I care....when I read it my stomach just sank.......the face of evil.....x's 6!

That poor girl is going to make it, BUT I can't even fathom how she will overcome that nightmare.....worse than a nightmare because it's real and that in itself makes it all the worse.....if there can be a worse.
You're right too........drugs or not..........we can't blame all this nastiness and evil on drugs..........those people had to be raised up in a way we can't even begin to understand to do something like that.
Scars on the outside may heal, but it's those deep scars in the soul.......they might scab over.......she may even have a minute or two of peace poor lady and it all comes rushing back........I was saying about the two little boys ran over here that are in intesive care......today don't they say it may be on purpose....one of the kids was due in court to testify against someone who assaulted him..........he gets hit on Sunday.......who does these things to kids?

Dar, yep the crystal is rampant in the clubs they say........there's a guy in Philly who runs a program........his name is Jay........when I read his story I about cried...........there's so many gay men that have sucumbed to that crystal and their inhibitions drop and it's a thing they are up on for days.........and gives that false sense of everything being right and wonderful.........people all taking advantage of the addicts...........and this man, Jay he's fierce as heck......he's put his own story out there and he's pulled out of it........and is helping others.
Back in our day it wasn't crystal..........I still don't know the difference between meth and crystal meth, but apparently there isn't any........BIG here back in the day.........Philly was the spot for it.......people coming far and wide for that poison.......using pool cleaner stuff.........my girlfriend I mean her skin.....it was like a porcelain dolls.........I hadn't seen in her in like a month and I was shocked.......all big cysts under her skin and all..........she wound up passing over due to HIV........never got clean........somebody told me your insides when they do an autopsy........young people.........have the insides of like 80 year olds.
Enough of this very sad, sad stuff........although people talking about it is necessary..........it scares the heck out of me.......and we all should say prayers for that poor lady.........that at least she finds some peace......and God Bless her for having the strength to tell the world.
