Sup Bryn? I'm here, just lurking away! Having the worst winter/snow/freezing temperatures in my lifetime, just like Eckie but I'm good thanks! You know, I managed to buy a loaf of bread today after trying for 5 days! The petrol is running out, public transport is screwed, schools are closed, Motorways have been closed and people have been stuck in traffic jams for like 18 hours at a time etc. Everyone is panic buying. It's bread, milk, newspapers, ciggies and petrol that are low or non existent. I can go without a lot but not my cigs! This country is a joke when it snows! The transport minister said sorry so that makes it alright for those poor people who had to sleep in their cars for 18 hours at minus 20! It's the worst snow I've ever seen mind you but last year was pretty bad too and all the councils ran out of salt/grit last year. We're all driving on the same tyres we use in the summer which is just crazy. The roads are compacted snow which has become black ice, snow ploughs are braking because the snow has turned to ice. There are icicles just waiting to kill unsuspecting people hanging from every building and even from cars! It's unreal! On Monday, all public transport was stopped because the snow was so bad. I live 4 miles from work and it took me over two hours to drive home! I was lucky compared to some. My wee nana has been snowed in for over a week and is suffering from cabin fever big time! Only good to come out of it really is that I've gotten to know all my neighbours now as we've all been out pushing each other's cars, digging each other out and clearing the roads and pavements etc. Been helping people get their shopping etc. Today was the first day in almost 2 weeks the temperature's been above freezing so the snow is thawing a little bit but next week is supposed to be even colder! I hate it! I'm dreading it! I want to live somewhere hot! Australia sounds good about now! Christmas day on the beach, I can only imagine! What's it like over the pond?

They showed Paris on TV and were saying it is the worse in 20 years. I look and see I think two foot maybe? I start cracking up. Psshhhhh even I can handle that.

It's either all help or some a*shole takes your parking spot or spalshes ya with slush. Do you put a chair or something in your space ya shoveled out? If not try it. Philly style. Get creative. I've seen some funny stuff keeping a parking spot. You shovel it then it's yours.

kazzyrae, I am so jealous! Bryn, it was probably only about 3 or 4 foot of snow! In some places it was more though. Because we're in the city, we don't usually get it so bad and we're also on the coast so it hardly lies around. This has been the worst snow and the most prolonged in like over 40 or 50 years. It usually only snows for a day or two at a time but it snowed for over a week pretty much every day and the temperature was really low too. Our councils just aren't prepared for that kind of weather. We're not used to it. It's crazy though when you think places like Canada get down to minus 30 and have tons of snow but can carry on as normal yet our wee island grinds to a complete halt! I don't know about Global Warming but it's sure as hell Global Freezing in this little country. I just wish we got the summer's to match! What's the weather like over the pond? Do you guys get a lot of snow? There's apparently a good chance of a white Christmas which I think is nice. The bookmaker's might not agree though!

One year, I'd love to somewhere really hot but I can't imagine Christmas away from home and it not being cold and dark lol!

Been absolutely wonderfull isnt it,,ave never worked fr 2weeks,so no work,no wages,no good at this time of year..A see you,n,Tel are still strugglin on,gets manotonus eh!A hope they now though it dz can do it linz,,i happen to know acouple of couples who have made it but they have worked damm hard getting where they are but the punchline is that the guy is a high flyer in the drug bizness,she worked there too but was jealous of his isuccess,,he continues to fly high ans she up stix,n,moves to the emerald isle no less,,some of you may know where this styory is going,,none of them speak to me now,,the friends i had at home,only the guy still talks,n,the bird that went to ireland and the guy she went to meet and fall in love with after 3e-mails or less..They blocked me facebook too,,i was shocked,but hey,,ye all deserve each other,especially with the way they acted during it..So there are success linz,though few,n,far between..mind though theres a big room through the backn if yer strugglin and its had your name on it fr ages....

Cheers Eck buddy. It's so good to hear from someone who really knows me and my sh*t. I really appreciate your offer too. The problem is, I asked him to go for a month or so till we were both totally clean. We agreed we'd get on the subs first as he has nowhere to go but his parents. I wouldn't expect or let him go back to his parents while still using as he'd be ill without any cash to get it. So we got back on the subs. Now nothing's happening. We're broke and still using on top, it's sh8t! We agreed last time we did this that if we screwed up this time (before rehab) that we'd have to do it seperately. Now that the reality of it is here, he doesn't want to go and is saying he doesn't think his parents will take him back. I think he just doesn't want to go. I just know we can't go on like this anymore and need to be brave about it and just do it! His parents needn't know, he can hide the subs easily. He's not working so he will at least have his giro so he can pay his mum digs and buy himself tobacco. His mum'll look after him. He needs a good feed. Then we'll both at least have food every day and smokes etc. At the moment, I'm working all month and my pay is gone in 4 days after I pay our debts/bills/dealers and waste what's left on gear. Neither of us are happy. We don't eat and are always scrounging off my family. At least on my own I'd maybe have enough to get me by, just. At least till the debts are paid then I'll be ok. We'd both be better off on our own. I have tried to explain that it doesn't mean it is over, we just need to get clean and start our own recovery as we're never in the same place at the same time mentally. I'm starting to get angry and a bit resentful and I really don't want that to happen but I can't help it. Especially when I'm getting up in the morning and going out in the cold and he's tucked up all cozy in bed. Then I call him from work to say I found him a job on the internet and he says he's no credit on his phone to call. I topped his phone up twice with 20 last week for that reason but it's all gone phoning dealers! You understand where I'm coming from? I'm just tired of being the breadwinner/money finder/problem solver/driver/cleaner/housekeeper etc. etc. I just need a break from having to continually worry and keep two people alive and keek two habits. It's just gone on too long. Are you going to NA?
