Well, this is not my usual board, but yesterday I heard something so disturbing that I had to post it. There was a local news story on Boston radio about heroin in the middle schools around here. Eighth graders are using and becoming addicted so frequently that it is about to reach epidemic proportions. The bags go for $5 and are 90% pure according to the cops and public health officials.
How scary is this?! A new, younger generation of addicts is forming under our noses in our middle schools and junior high schools; kids with no sense of how devastating this addiction is and how long and hard it is to kick it. Parents are largely in denial about it, or if they are not, it's not their kid, it's some other disturbed kid from a bad family. And the kids? Of course, they are not subject to physical laws that bind adults, nothing bad could ever happen to them...they would never become addicted...that happens to other, lesser mortals...
How sad.

i know what your saying it happens here in the uk too its disgusting how dealers will sell to inocent children knowing the consequences of what happens to their life once there on that stuff i dont understand it

There is "cheese" a heroin Tylenol pm mixture that has been around for a few years now and it targets middle school kids. First found in Texas I think. Sold usually for a couple bucks a bag.
For some reason 90% pure in a bag like shown for 5 bucks ain't making sense in my head and would damn near put a serious hurting on a first time child user. I see od, not high....
Drugs have been in schools for a long time. It really freaks me out that parents don't know this from being kids themselves. It may have been different stuff but it was always there. The denial in any parent kinda blows me away. Pills in a wide assortment of pretty rainbow colors and styles, benzo's,barbs and opiates ran free in school ( and in parents medicine cabinets, like mine ) as did pot, hash, dust, crank, alcohol.....hell even that otc stuff was right there being abused.
Public school was more scaled down, catholic had all the goods. I saw lines of meth around 8th grade and it wasn't like a hanging with a bad crowd thing, there were just drugs everywhere, and from real young.
Might have been back then a big city thing...

Back then heroin was a needle thing, you weren't snorting it. Now well it fits right in wth the major players and the door was opened real wide to those who would just never use a needle.

Yeah, I know they've always been there, but heroin and eighth graders is just bad. I expect there to be pot, cocaine, and acid at the high school - even some smoking and drinking in the middle schools - I'm no ostrich and I work in an urban school seen some of my kids die already.

Agree with ya all...for me whos been on the drug scene for many yrs...its now easier to buy smack than it is hash or grass..over here..so lots of teens arnt taking their first puff of a joint..as entry to the drugworld..but snorting or chasing smack....cant imagine the ride a 15yr.old would get out of smack..but as Diff..said its a s***ty world.

I never got into H till my 20's as fate would have it I use to buy from a school kid. Kid got good dope i'ld call his cell he would say stuff like i'm getting ready to go to class i'll be out at 3 use to crack me up!.
