I just finished reading the thread about you and Vinny. I think it got deleted....but

Why don't you go to a detox center? or some type of inpatient facility. In your post you said only your husband is working, so instead of spending all your time about thinking how to quit, just go to a place where they detox you and hopefully give you the tools not to relapse a 6th, 7th, or 8th time.

You are on alot of powerful drugs, not just 1 painkiller. Your on Xanax, Soma and Lortab. That's THREE BIG DRUGS to be on at all the sametime. You got yourself in a really big hole and if you have relapsed already 5 times maybe what your doing really isnt working.

Anyone can talk about wanting to be clean month after month. Just do it. Im sure your scared but you didnt get into this mess over night so you know it won't go away over night either.

The reality is your addicted to 3 strong drugs all at the sametime. Your not working at all so you have the time to go someplace that can help you...Get the proper help you need so your not relapsing 200 times and then get addicted to 5 or 6 drugs at the sametime.

Stop talking about it and like Vinny said...Do it.

Nicely said Kiwi..and hun the pills you are on, you can't just go c/t. You are gonna need help! Please don't take this as being mean, because my heart goes out to you, the pills you take ARE very powerful, and you will need a good taper, sub, Dr, inpatient, or whatever. I think you're finally ready. It is work, but the end result, is way better than how you are living now. Trust me, I thought honestly life would suck, but after it is all said and done, and you can breath, where you don't have to work as hard, you'll feel it, life is good without pills...just look at TCCME's Tom's post, I wish you luck, and send you prayers...Kim

Yes - mdgirl is right. You cant CT some of those pills. Especially the XANAX. Not too mention your not on 1 drug but 3. Im sure that would be a MAJOR shock to your body if you CT those.

i was on hydro xanax and soma and noway could cold turkey off them, i needed a siezure med, a blood pressure med and a sleeping med through help of detox dr he told me xanax and soma were pretty much same as detoxing off and deff needed to taper with seizure med at the amount i was on. which was lots.

I haven't been going c/t i have a great psycologist. I have been cut back dramaticly. I think I am doing fine. I am down to 1loratab, 2soma as needed i have a metal plate in my neck my xanex has gone from 6mgs a day to 3. So i feel with his help i am heading in the write direction.

Thank u for your concern, i do have insurance to do in house rehab but if he feels its necessary i will go but until then i think i am weaning just fine. Thank u and Kim

And then there is Vinny...Kyra, sounds like you are on the right track! Wow, down 3? Soon you'll be all done, I must have missed that, sounds like you and the Dr are doing the right thing, tapering slow, I think you'll be fine as long as you stay the course! Hugs and Prayers sent your way, Kim

i agree, it takes what it takes, everyones approach is different, as long as the dr's orders are followed kyra will be off the junk in no time and enjoying a complete full life of happiness. its great to know kyra is under dr's care and she is following dr's orders. as long as those steps are followed there is a world of posabilities living clean and sober and healthy. kyra keep up the fabulous hard work. you do what it takes for you and feel good about that knowng it is what is working for you. no one can tell you what you are doing is not the right way. it is the way that is working for you. that is all that matters. you go girfriend.

Kiwi, forgive me for the things I have written to you about your posts. The one above is so good and helpful for her. I think you're right about her needing to go to a rehab especially with relasping several times. I appreciate your post. You seem to be a pretty nice guy, except I won't forgive you for saying "you hate Kansas" I live in Kansas City, not out west or down south where there is nothing. You know I've heard Midwest girls are the prettiest!!! Please no offense to the west and east and everywhere else, it's just a joke.

I'm over 4 months clean and everyday I still have to just do it, just live my life clean.

When I said 4 or 5 times that was on my own with no help from anyone. Now I have the doctor working with me.

I haven't failed 4 or 5 times those were just personal tries. So I don't consider that a relapse. I have never ask for help until this time.
