Anyone have any experience with this ad...My dr, put me on this to
help with the wd anxiety and depression..However I think it may be
giving me some anxiety..
Doug
I took it Doug, but I was still using (coke) so I still had anxiety...lol
Hi Doog
I was on Lexapro and it made me feel very numb. It is also a b**** to come off of. I was getting brain zaps for months after stopping it. If your not clinically depressed, then I would forget the AD. JMHO. Have a great day!

I was on lexapro for a few months and it made me very groggy. My Dr. switched me to cymbalta which works much better for me.
Certain ads gave me anxiety too, see if you can try something else, theres tons of ads out there.

Hi-
I take lexapro 20mg a day for depression. I haven't really been able to tell a lot about it, however, I'm just coming off of pills so they may have masked it somewhat, I don't know. I haven't had any anxiety with it, but I have heard that that's a side effect.

Thank everyone...I think I'm gonna cut the dose in half and see
if that helps..

Hey Doog
I got those brains zaps for almost 4 month, and I swear I still get one every now and then, and it has been almost 6 months since I quit taking them.
Did your doctor just give you them to get through the wd, or are you depressed?

Michelle...The first time I found my way to this board in
early october..I was so inspired by all the success stories
and all the support that I quit cold turkey..I made it 12 days
then BAM...All the anxiety...gloom and doom thoughts set
in...I freaked out and relapsed...I new I needed a different
plan so I went and saw my dr..and leveled with him about
what I was doing..He then put me on the Lexapro and gave
me a small amount of Ativan to get through the Panic Attacks
associated with wd..Its benn 30 days now, and I think maybe
I should ween off the Lexapro and just see how it goes..

I was on it and didn't like it after 7 weeks I stopped taking it
I took lexapro 10mg for 11 months for anxiety and mild depression. It seemed to help in a very subtle way. It felt mild to me, which was just what I was looking for. In the past I had tried Paxil, it didn't work well for me. It felt too strong and made me feel weird and zombie-like.
Coming off of the Lexapro was not bad for me. I had been thinking of quitting it, and then went on vacation to Mexico and forgot it. I felt weepy, but nothing major. However, I was in a tropical paradise. Coming off of Paxil after 3 weeks was a living hell for a few days. I cried endlessly for no reason.
Everybody responds differently to every AD available. Give it at least two weeks. The side effects should subside by then. If not, consider trying something else.
Take care, Atlas
