Lurking Newbie

I have been reading this site for a few months.Today,i finally decided to join.I have seen so much good on this board, but lately not so much.I get the impression theres a few members here who "run the show" and condradict themselves over and over again,so sad. There are less and less posts these days, people are fed up and theres all kinds of finger pointing!Mostly by the ones responsible!

everybody says we are all entitled to our opinions, but for some reason, that doest seem to be true for ALL,but only for the so called CREAM OF THE CROP(at least in their self appointed opinion)

This satement by CG is the biggest example of the pot calling the kettle black i have EVER seen.

(Teresa, you said it best. Learning to ignore and not play into someone else's craziness is paramount in getting along on this board.)

I hope its time that CG practices what she preaches, and everybody else can get on with recovery!

I intend to stick around, learn and contribute,i know some might not like what i wrote but its just my opinion, take it or leave it!

MR

Hi MR and where are you at with yoru recovery? ((hugs)) jaxx
MR,

I hope that you will not get involved and just ignore some of the bs that happens here. It happens on EVERY message board.

Since you decided to join, why don't you tell us your story??
Are you clean?? Are you working a recovery program??
What can we do to support you??

Welcome & look forward to learning about you

Hello WachyJacky,i am clean 6 months, after several attempts. This time feels different, very different.I have hope,i think im goign to make it.I have tons of support, family, meetings, and hopefully a nice online group like this one. After my first post, maybe i wont be eccepted by anyone, but after reading for a month,i could not hold back.It seems nobody speaks up.If people dont speak up,it will continue forever.Nice to meet you!MR
So why did you choose to post on a day that there are no disagreements going on? I would certainly hope you didn't join today just to stir the pot. Congrats on 6 months clean. Tell us how you did it.
Swizzle, thanks for the welcome.I have been clean for a glorius 6 months now.I was using vicodin for severla years due to back surgeries. And as with alot of you,i too continued using long after it was necessary.Im on the road to recovery,go to na and aa meeting, have a great life. But i know htis is a never ending battle.I intend to fight it tooth and nail. Its great to meet you.As far as the BS,i said my piece, and now am done.Recovery, learning, giving, thats all that i am after!MR
12 Stepper,maybe im mistaken,but its ALL OVER this board.MR
MR,

Congrat's to you on your clean time!!!!
For myself, NA has made the huge difference in finding true recovery
Sounds like u are on the right path
Keep up the good work!!!

:-)

12 Stepper,i did it by eventually hitting rock bottom, having had enough of the life i was living.I went to detox then rehab followed by meetings.I had never done that before, the many other times i tried. This time i am determined its the lst.I will do all that is needed to live a happy clean free life.I honestly dont want to stir anything,i just get angry seeing people being treated badly or being excluded and theres quite a bit of that here. And its true,it happens on all the boards unfortunately.Maybe things will get better soon, nice to meet you.MR
MR congrats on your clean time hun you sound very positive about your future and you sure seem to be making the right moves in that direction jaxxxxxx
lol Whatever happened to : hello my name is MR and I am an addict.

Regards,
Tom
There are so many threads recently from many different posters stating they want the board back. Well as addicts we can't live for yesterday or last weeks clean-sober days, nor can we jump to the future. All anyone of us has is right now, right this minute right this day. Instead of stirring the pot, post a subject that personnally relates to you and your recovery. Before you know it others will respond and bingo...an actual recovery thread taking place.

The ridiculous notion that this board is divided is in my own opinion just ludicrous. This board is what the members make of it.
Boo,

I couldnt have said it better myself.

Regards,
Tom
Welcome MR.

Hope you find the board useful and everyone is pleasant to you.
Hey Tom,

How goes it today? Hope you have great thanksgiving.....
This board is what ever you as individuals want it to be me, i want it to good for me and it is. jaxxxxxxxx
Timetowakeup, it's time to wake up. None of us are perfect, me included. I make mistakes and then try to correct them by listening to others. You are allowed your opinion here just like the rest of us. Which you practiced in your first post. A little piece of advice..if you keep bringing it up, it will keep it going.

So maybe it would be better to ask for help for you and talk about what's up with you.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome to the Board. I hope you will be inspired to share more on some of the other topics that are on the Board as well. I am glad you are here and hope that you keep coming back. I don't think that anyone called themselves "the cream of the crop," rather, I think the poster stated the analogy that "the cream always rises to the top." We have choices today, ask yourself, do you want to be part of the problem or do you want to be part of the solution?
